Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

So I have a young looking M4 with pitchfork in hand cleaning out the stall of the Mil Horse....but I need a road apple (western term) prop to complete the scene.

I suppose I could use a primitive ball and go at it with the morph brush but it would probably end up looking like (insert adjective here) based on my skill set with the morph brush.

So if anybody knows of some please let me know. Tried a zillion different search terms trying to find one here, the store you can't mention here and ShareCG.

I found a cow pie, but horses give off a different shape

Do you think it would be appropriate if I used the primitive ball and the morph brush to ask BB to make a crappy looking material set for it or would that stink up the forums here?

thanks in advance for any suggestions

You can mention Renderotica, just can't link to it.

Nope, never seen any horse shit here, apart from the usual stuff in the forums from (insert poster of choice here).  :)

If you find one, I'm going to need a young Gordie Howe morph.

It's a surprisingly difficult material. A few quick tries led to ... failure.

Although one of these is a good start on a hamburger shader.

Never thought about starting with rocks and then taking the morph brush to those...off to search my runtimes...thanks for idea.

Based on the rest of BB's post the stock price of McDonald's just dropped 5 points!

The one looks like melting chocolate ice cream. Or at least a good start.

I think it looks pretty good, but the color is off (to less green). Horse poo is a compound material and needs some fibers of grass or straw in it to look convincing.

That's a very fresh one. When it has been exposed to the air it goes darker.

I'm with Laurie...I may have to persue other foods for a while.

ladydrakana ( ) posted Sat, 18 August 2012 at 12:01 PM

The color also depends on what the horse is being feed. Alfalfa tends to make it a bright green. The photo above lookes like the horse is being fed grass hay. Exposure to the elements changes both color and consistancy.  As it drys out it turns to powder.  Try shoveling that.

I think that other site may actually have human waste that is poseable.  You might be able to scale it accordingly........

I saw that prop a while back. It appears to no longer be for sale there. They got their nick name Road Apples by the shape. BB's post which appear to be rocks has the shape looking good, thanks to Flink's and Traveler's purchased rocks I already had scaled down. For me looking at BB's image was one of those Doh mommnets, where you shout out, "Why didn't I think of that!"

The scene is a late teen boy shoveling out a dirty stall, so a close up of the hamburger, ah I mean crap is not the focal point. But I needed something to pass (pardon the pun) as something the viewer would recognize as or think are a couple of Road Apples, with some straw on the end of a pitch fork.

Trekkiegrrrl has dog poop and a hairball, if that helps. It probably doesn't.
