Subject: Material Request

Hello everyone

I am wondering if anyone happens to have a copy of a good clay render material they would be willing to share, have a download link to, or offer any tips on the best material setup to create it myself.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated

There's also a clay render light rig for Carrara on Share CG, haven't tried it out yet but people speak highly of the creator's shares.

http://www.sharecg.com/v/49489/browse/5/3D-Model/light-rig-for-clay-render

You need to register with Share CG, though. Nice site.

Thanks for CG link. I am a member of the website and have a few models available for download (just look up "ibcreations" if you're ever interested) but I have to confess that I never thought of looking there... I shall go and do some serious browsing over there now

Clay renders really aren't all that complicated. For this pic I just used Carrara's default shader, ambient light, and ambient occlusion. The background is just a simple curved plane.

The point of clay renders is to either check your model for flaws, or show off it's awesome flawlessness! Flat, even lighting is the key :)
