I just got back from the mess that happened last week, because I have to make up a portfolio for someone tomorrow, and wasn't feeling realy creative, and was kinda down. So one of my good friends... (I have been tring to get the guts up to take her out on a date for about a year. And I have been dying to shoot her for twice the amount of time. Somtning about that anacronim that Alpha came up with a while back I guess...) But anyway, she said that she didn't like the way I was thinking, so she disided to jolt my creative juces if you will, and told me to shoot her a portfolio, and has a new and enthusiastic love for modeling. Theese are some of the results. I have a feeling that tomorrow will be a good day. Comments Welcome -Gabe-

I liked all the pics you posted, but I have to tell you, this is my favorite. In particular I think the curve of her nose and mouth and chin are incredible, and remind me of the old hollywood style photos...The fan is such a beautiful touch with nudity, to me it represents the spirit....

This is very good! In the spirit of critique, a wisp of light on the back to define the arch would have given you a real winner. The drama is in the lighting, as ry said above. Working with the same model at different times and different moods of both the photographer and model can result in body (no pun intended) of work that highlights both talents. A good start and good luck!

Slinky, the light scorce was acualy simple a single 200 watt daylight balanced light, from abotu a foot and a half away. infront of a charcole grey backdrop. Bill. I need to know where you mean by the back do you mean behind her, or highlighting her back. I find the idea good, but am a bit confused. Syyd, Thank you. I didn't want the image to focus on the fact that there was a nude body in it, but more on the texture and complexity of the body. That is why I choose a white fan. Beauty is a simple thing, if you will. The lace fan I think excentuates that because a hand held fan is a relitivaly simple tool, but has a striking beauty, just like the body does. -Gabe-

Gabe, I was referring to a slight amount of light on the lady's back. Much as you see in a picture of a bottle, a slight line that defines the shape on the dark side, no more than that. It would hint at the beautiful line of an arched back.
