can some body show or tell me how to make a alpha channel.

I made a texture for a game,it needs a alpha channel why I done know but the orignal one did so now that I screed up big time .Help please.

Iam very new to this stuff so be gentle.

Well.. to begin.. here is a tutorial.. Mind.. they are trying to sell their software, so they mention it a lot.. but it DOES walk you thru.
