Subject: Black Ground in Render and can't remove it

MagnoliaMoonElf ( ) posted Thu, 11 October 2012 at 3:18 PM · edited Tue, 05 November 2024 at 2:58 PM

I am working on a new render. The problem is when I render the image there is a black area where the ground would be, (not the total background).

I have no idea what to do to remove it.

If any one at all can help.

what material have you got on the gROUND plane ?  are you using Posers ground or another prop ?

If you want to hide the GROUND plane completely, Ctrl+G toggles the visibility of the GROUND plane.

Thank you that did it. I have no idea what happened, I didn't have a ground added or anything else. The only thing I can figure out is I did something by mistake and didn't realize I did it or what I did to put it there. But all is good now.

I didn't have a prop in at that point and no material on the ground plane unless I did and didn't realize it.

I am still learning this program and this was a new lesson for me.

Thank you for your help

in the material room you could set the ground plane to 'catch shadows only'
then set it for all your new scenes by saving preferences.
