THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Bryce 7 PLE to Bryce 7 PRO

moonhawk ( ) posted Thu, 11 October 2012 at 7:37 AM · edited Wed, 13 November 2024 at 4:04 PM

These are probably 'duh' questions, but I'm in a 'duh' state of mind. I'm about to download Bryce 7 PRO.  I've been using the PLE version.  It's been awhile since I changed versions, so here go the questions.

Will the PRO version come with an updated manual/help files - PLE has info only on version 6 and I don't know how much difference there is between 6 and 7.

How much difference will I see in using the PRO version?

How do I transfer mats and objects between them?

There may be other 'duh' questions once I've downloaded it!

Thanks for any and all help!

B7 has a few more bells and whistles, but it's not a 'must have' edition. It really doesnt like big textures as these will make it crash faster than a blind guy in a ferrari.

You could simply copy you mat and objects folders over to the new instalation IRC.

I dont think you even have to download pro. just change the serial number

moonhawk ( ) posted Thu, 11 October 2012 at 9:12 AM

Thanks to both of you - I guess I wanted the extra bell and whistles. I did not know about the serial number thing.  Being stubborn and prone to do things the hard way rather than the easier way (hubby gets frustrated with me), I'll probably download it anyway.

Here is a small image showing new items in Bryce 7 Pro. Its basically got some new lights, you can play more with the Render options and the instancing Lab. you also get Displacement and Anisotrophy in the material lab. If you use A mac like me Don't install Lion or Mountain Lion as they are incompatible With Bryce. To transfer Mats and Objects is simple either Save them in a lower version of Bryce preferably 5.5-6.3 and open it in Bryce 7 Pro and Save or make an obp and import that file into the create bar. And same process goes for the Mat import it from the Material Lab.

I hope this helps you

I did the updated and the program still said PLE. I used the file bundled with the free pro offer and still got the PLE.

Go to the help menu where you can enter the serial number for Bryce 7 PRO. You will find it in your account.

dyret ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2012 at 12:34 AM

Thats your account at the DAZ site. lol

dyret ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2012 at 12:38 AM

And you might have to exit Bryce after entering the serial number as well.

** Hey there...just reading your posts and I'd like to add to it for you...if you go to youtube, there are tons of video tutorials about how to do all kinds of stuff with the BPro 7... some stuff you can't even imagine the program can do! Good luck and happy Brycer Halloween!**

Yeah! DAZ have put up a lot by David Brinnen on YouTube. Most of  it I havent tried for fear of my puter burning. lol. But if you have a better machine than me it looks like a lot of fun.
