Assuming this is a render, and the lines aren't just pre-render goofiness, make sure your texture overlaps the edges of the template, as the templates are rarely perfectly aligned. The bare spots are probably the "skin" on the ankle in the boot rather than a texture problem. Use the hierarchy editor to turn off the feet/shins on the poser actor and see if they go away. GrayMare
Thanks for your response. The lines appear with all the textures I apply so it must be the texture map. I wasn't too concerned about the bare spots, but I can't really turn the shins off since part of the shins are supposed to show right below the knees (I did turn the feet and toes off). I guess it all just comes with practice. S

An alternative to Cin's very good advice is to--since you're texturing anyway--make a transmap for your figure that has black over the lower calves and feet. i know for me, that sometimes tapering makes the boots look poorly fitted, so i do the transparent feet thing. Only apply that transmap after you've posed, or the whole body goes "dotty." :^) Nan
Or even more alternatively, you coud group the lower parts of the legs into a new group, assign it a new material, and make set that material to 100% transparent... I do that a lot with body parts that poke through clothing where I don't want it to, when I can't just make a body part invisible. But that might be overkill in this case.
