Subject: Importing animated Poser figures

johnr1969 ( ) posted Mon, 29 October 2012 at 7:01 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 10:56 PM

I'd be grateful of any suggestions. I am trying to create an animated scene in Vue 10.5, including imported Poser and Daz figures. I have been trying to animate these figures in Poser 7 and then import them to Vue but the figures won't import. Two questions:

1.Will I have more success with Poser 9?

2.Is there anyway I can animate the figures in Vue? Sorry if these questions seem remedial.

Thanks

We all started at the same place...... ;D

  1.  As for the import itself, check which Poser SDK you chose to import with. If it doesn't match the version of Poser, then you can get this problem. The other most common issue is having your runtime pass through a manager program, like Howard's P-Booost. If the manager isn't active, Poser may find the content selected last via the virtual pathing, but Vue doesn't know what to do with that. If you have the P9 SDK selected, then sure P9 would work much better.

  1. Only if you could properly rig the figure in Vue, which is........insane, to say the least. It has a powerful animation system, but it is not tailored for organic figure animation.

Just do your animation in Poser and import it as PZ3 into Vue.  The frist SDK listed is for Poser 5/6.  So I guess the next SDK listed would be for Poser 7.

You need 3DS Max if you want to model your own figures with rigging and do all your animation in Vue without Poser.  I think DAZ Studio figures have rigging in Vue if you use Collada importing.

All my stuff is 32-bit, so it all works together.
