Subject: Renderosity staff needs to split up victoria 4 clothing into four basic groups

Zanzo ( ) posted Sat, 10 November 2012 at 11:08 PM · edited Wed, 05 February 2025 at 10:59 AM

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

  1. tops (shirt, bikini, etc)

  2. bottoms (pants, bikini, etc)

  3. shoes (boot, heel, etc)

  4. misc

It's getting ridiculous trying to find stuff now.

You can tell that the DAZ store is kicking the shit out of renderosity's horrible marketplace.

Hmm...and you talked to an admin or another Rendo staff member? Seems that your concerns may better be served by talking to one of them, don't you think? After all, none of us forumite peons can help ya, can we?

Also, by going straight to one particular department you might miss some of the other clothes that you might purchase but were not your original target.  Hence the reason you come out of a supermarket with bars of chocolate when you only went in for a loaf of bread.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

At least what I buy at Renderosity is available as soon as I pay for it.  Not so at the DAZ store.

LaurieA ( ) posted Sun, 11 November 2012 at 9:07 AM

I've never NOT had access to my purchases right away....at BOTH stores. Now, whether or not the search is buggered, I can't say. I don't really look for much - at either place.

If not for the vendor herself, I'd still be waiting for a DAZ purchase I made last week.

That hardly seems practical.

I propose: fetish wear, slut wear, normal clothes and non-erotic costumes

I dunno what the categories currently are, but they should be: street clothes, fantasy outfits, pinup, cosplay and fetish wear. LOL.

To mimic real life I propose that left socks be in their own department whilst the matching right sock be listed behind Household Appliances > Driers.

cedarwolf ( ) posted Sun, 11 November 2012 at 11:11 AM

I think Phil is right...and the dryer should match to a black hole somewhere.  I think the only thing I would add of value would be : outerwear, underwear, shoes and socks, lingerie, costuming.

I'd like to see sub categories for hair- "realistic: whether in texture or cut; Bizarre: everything else! :-)

Site Admin Online Now!

Zanzo's catagory suggestion might not work as sometimes things are sold as sets like a skirt and blouse. As far as Joe's suggestion wouldn't the normal clothes be empty?

Maybe this thread should be in the suggestion forums?

Your 4 vicki categories should be:

  1. Slutty

  2. Sluttier

  3. Sluttiest

  4. Misc

RedPhantom brought up what should be done. Please voice any suggestions to the suggestion box. Suggesstions brought up here will most likely not be seen by the MP staff.

Thanks :)

The only thing Rendo needs is for vendors who want to sell their products to update them with a ton of appropriatekeywords.

Now that search has been improved, I'd think that proper keywording would enable you to find anything simply by searching for: V4 blouse or V4 shorts or V4 skirt.

That's assuming search can handle more than one term at a time. I haven't tested it since the update.

ETA: I just tried it with "V4 shirt". It kinda worked. Although why it brought up shirts for M4 and jeans for Tyler, I do NOT know. sigh

V4 AND Shirt

Yields 3113 products. I only loked at 3 pages - there was one M4 item but the rest seemed to be fairly accurate. I didn't see "V4" anywhere on the page for the M4 item so I'm not sure what's going on. I agree that a working tag or keyword system would be better than trying to divide things up into too many categories.

People, Renderosity has only ever had 4 basic search terms that work as expected...the rest you can forget...

The 4 basic search terms are...Temple, Dragon, Sword and Hair for the girls head...

To the OP and your comment about the other store...my credit cards disagree.

I think having a better search functionality would be good, but, in general, I buy stuff from the same people, so it's not too much of a problem to me. I don't think Tops and Bottoms really makes sense, since many things are entire outfits. Style would be much more appropriate...what LaurieA suggested is actually a good idea, in my opinion:)

monkeycloud ( ) posted Tue, 13 November 2012 at 7:07 PM

I'd like to see a straight forward two categories please:

  1. Stuff I want

  2. Stuff I don't want

That should do me ;-)

bopperthijs ( ) posted Fri, 16 November 2012 at 5:58 PM

I would just be happy with a simple split of a texture and a model section (also for the hair section)

Bopper
