You can, I believe...

This link is Characters, Female, V4, Poser:  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?TopID=268274.268295.269113.269582

(though it does include Genesis, since DSon is available)

This is anastasia and GND:  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?TopID=268274.268295.269201

(which are poser only, of course)

I don't see a good Cookie Filter...surprised that is not under Toon, perhaps just need to ask?  :)

I acutally liked the changes so far... :tongue1:

You keep "refining" your selection choices, it's at the very, very back end.

Completely contrary to where it should be, at least IMHO. >:(

I was toying with the notion of picking up some A3 items while I still could.

Now it looks like I won't be able to find them.  :  I can see stuff for M4, Gene, and a number of other figures I don't have.  No A3.  In fact she isn't even an option anymore.  Well this sucks.

I do like the extra categories, but they are in the wrong place IMO.

WARK!

i haz a feeling there's no actual poser user input on the store design team.

I think it's a problem that the filters are apparently arranged as hierarchically as they are?

It's more of a menu / sub-menu selection system than a filter sytem.

That's why, I think, what they're ending up with, in the reorganisation, isn't necessarily better than the previous arrangement, IMHO.

It's all kind of drill down menu flow, with very channelled choices.

When it should be more of a matrix of checkboxes, of parallel, add-able / remove-able filters, which could be combined in any which way... each just appending a clause to the select query.

You can't filter on a specific type of clothing for a specific figure, at present, because there isn't a figure selection under the clothing category... is there?

The more guided menu system is okay in principle, I think.

But for it to really work well, each sub menu needs to dynamically contain all the applicable parent / sibling categories, and the child categories therein.

Complicated to build that (because of that "applicable" word in my last sentence)... which is why most shopping sites use the checkbox filter model.

;-)

and the items would need to be tagged correctly.

this one says for 'oser' lol.  hopefully product requirements aren't the key fields.

There is a chance to comment on the new filter structure here http://www.renderosity.com/department-structure-changes-cms-16420 you might want to post something there too. Might have a better chance to get your voice heard.

If you don't like the new changes here is a reply I got via email. It basically states we don't care what you think.

Hi.

That is an intended change to the Departments Structure/Reorganizing that is currently in progress. Not a mistake.

The changes to Departments is one that we will be implementing over the next week, and after that period will be permanent to the site and will not be changed or reversed. We truly feel that after a period of adjustment, and time for all products to be moved into their correct areas your shopping experience will be improved. These changes along with the enhancements to the search function, as well as some other overall site improvements that are still in the works will all work together to improve the overall function of the site, and therefore your experience as a buyer.

We are sorry you feel this way. We just hope you will give it some time and see if your opinion changes at all.

Have a good weekend!

They have gone all DAZ on us apparently.

Khai-J-Bach ( ) posted Sat, 17 November 2012 at 9:32 AM

have gone? heh. they are like this for each change made ;) it's nothing new.

monkeycloud ( ) posted Sat, 17 November 2012 at 10:05 AM

I rather like Daz's site now... it took a while, and there were some glitches... but their product catalogue / store front seems to be in better shape now than it was prior to their changes.

Just a shame about the itemised order history searchability there still.

Anyway, I do like the extra top level categories Rendo have added.

It has scope to be an improvement. I just now need to be able to filter the clothing sub category I've navigated to, so that it only applies to Poser... and / or a given figure?

Maybe the reorganised top filter menu is actually okay... but what they need are a set of complimentary, global filters (maybe in a side-bar) for the product / figure compatibility aspect?

JohnDelaquiox ( ) posted Sat, 17 November 2012 at 10:07 AM

They are actually working on adding the filters back to the itemised order history. Reason it has taken so long is there is something about the new code they are using.

They still has a few things to fix

It's a right mess at the moment. I hope they're still working on it. The previous structure would've been Ok if they'd just spent some time sorting the products properly so they were all in the right categories.

The new one is probably not too bad if you know exactly what you're looking for, but at the moment if you just want to browse by figure it's hopeless.

I feel very sorry for the vendors who are trying to sort all their products into the new system. Sounds like a nightmare.

Dear Renderosity, your failure in properly organizing the marketplace in a shopper-friendly fashion is examplory, keep up the bad work.  :)

(note I still think it's a step in the right direction, but it needs to be oriented by figure first)

Well I am already seeing some structure taking place. Overall items are being catagorized a lot better. Most vendors are still busy catagorizing their products. In about a week or so things will be better. Vendors are still requesting specific catagories for their products so its still a bit of a mess right now.

It looks like Renderosity wants to move away from Poser.

They now even allow in the store to have Poser content distributed in DS4 content folders. Simply moving it is not easy since all the references point to DS4 locations.

They might want to ask DAZ how that worked out for them.

Although most Poser content can be used in DS4.

wimvdb ( ) posted Sun, 18 November 2012 at 5:09 PM

That's not the point. You used to be able to copy the runtime tree to your own runtime. Now you need to copy the DAZ tree as well. This is very bad. As if we did not have enough confusion in the folder structures.

Zanzo ( ) posted Sun, 18 November 2012 at 9:21 PM

The store is broken right now, I would hold off on buying anything until they fix it.  I couldn't find anything I was looking for.

In the mean time you can go check out the DAZ store, they actually know what they're doing.

I hope to hell that doesn't mean  they are adding a "My_Library" or a "Content" folder to the zip/rar files, as only an idiot that hasn't a clue how to package content does that.
