I turned on the radio this morning and good ol' Bing was singing about some drunk with a red nose who was running around in a reindeer costume.  Music has really changed in the last 60-70 years, hasn't it?

A local radio station here is yammering on the TV about "All Christmas music. All the time." I think it's just a tad too early for Bing and the boys 24/7

the easiest thing to do would just be to play xmas songs 365 days a year, save me getting confused at halloween when i turn on the music channel and see the top 50 xmas songs is on all day.

We've got so fed up with xmas drawing out into a whole quarter, that this year we have taken the decision not to even put up the tree until xmas eve. Horror of Horrors.

It must be harder for our transatlantic cousins who start the crimbo celebrations at thanksgiving, no wonder most of em pack up the decos on the 26th December.

BTW, i do hope they put "Wonderful Life" on the tv this year, otherwise i'll have to watch it from my HD again, and sob alone over my keyboard. :(

I think it's on NBC after they do their dog show on thanksgiving day.  Not 100% sure about that.

I usually get "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" going round my head in mid September.

By November I'm over it all and looking forward to some chocolate eggs, come springtime ;-)

Yeah.  I'm hoping a certain family member won't drag me out to black friday, opening at midnight, again this year.  I've already bought my presents...

No! No Christmas until Friday! One holiday at a time is enough. We need more songs about turkeys and stuffing. This weekend the thanksgiving decorations will come down and chirstmas stuff will go up. And no I won't be doing the door buster sales either. If I had my way I wouldn't step foot into a store till January 6th. Unfortunately we have to eat.

In my area that bastion of good taste WALMART had christmas stuff up before haloween ! The christmas music is playing in the electronics department with a picture of a log fire on a 40 inch tv.

I am expecting easter and valantines day stuff any minute. 8-(

Black friday this year starts at 8pm on thursday if they dont strike.

Lol, I've been playing Christmas music all week as I've been getting ready for Thanksgiving.  :)   

I have not exchanged a gift or card at Christmas for more than thirty years and I have not bothered with the "Christmas weed" (tree) for at least twenty.  Music in my home is from CD, none  of which are holiday related.  The more commercialized the season became, the more it turned me away.  "We wish you a merry Christmas, and please buy our beer."  Another week or so and I go into my annual hibernation.  I'll have someone pick up a game for my daughter, she has a Wii, but that's it.

Yeah, but there's not a lot of Thanksgiving day music and how many times can you stand to listen to "Over the River and Through the woods"?

I can stand Christmas music ON Christmas, but that's about it ;). Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker suite is pretty cool tho..and Christmas music by Trans-Siberian Orchestra ;).

Yeah, that'd probably drive me nuts too, and I LIKE Christmas light displays. Don't want to live next to one though. The traffic nightmare alone is enough to call the police and make them take it down.
