You can do both. MetaCreations is migrating RayDream and Infini-D to Carrara. 5.5 is the last RayDream. If you upgrade to 5.5 and register you can apply that upgrade cost to Carrara. Carrara will have the MetaCreations GUI like Poser and Bryce and presumably will grow. Check the MetaCreations site for more details. Personally I like the RayDream interface and I'm a little leery of the coming one. I expect I'll keep using 5.5 but also go to Carrara and use it alongside. I got my Raydream Studio 5.5 around the same time I saw an alpha version of Carrara during the Seybold Conference in San Francisco back in Sept. I was totally amazed by the demo and now I regretted not waiting a bit longer for Carrara's release. Now, that Carrara's finally being released I'm still a novice at Raydream Studio to upgrade to the new product. My advice is to stick with Raydream for now and get comfortable with it before you move on to Carrara. I heard from MetaCreations that you'll get an upgrade discount if you previously own RayDream or Infini-D.

I've been using Raydream Studio for a few years now and was just wondering if it would be better to upgrade Raydream or move to Carrara? They look like they have a lot of the same features but maybe there will be more plugins for Raydream. I just don't know. Which one is more higher end?
