OK, this is a real newbie question. I had Vue 9 Studio and purchased a good bit of content. Recently I upgraded to Vue 10 Studio. I know that I can use the content from Vue 9, but am not sure of the best way to do so.  If I just add collections then I'm going to end up with two of each collection. In the manual it mentions an automatic import filter that will import your content from previous versions. Only it doesn't tell you how to do it!!! What is the best way to pull my Vue 9 content into Vue 10?

What I have done in the past (don't know if this is the best way, tho) with versions dating back to Vue 7 is to create a "Vue Combo" folder where I keep all versions mixed together except the two most recent ones.  Each time there is a new version, I let the newest addition override the files with the same names from the previous versions.  However, I also keep a backup copy of the in-tact old library for each version.

If I have bought something in the older version (don't always remember which ones), I'll notice that it is for an older version when I try to use it and can then reset my Cornucopia account and thus re-download a copy, this time for the newest version.

With this method, I always have three libraries showing up in my content - e.g.: Vue 11 Library, Vue 10.5 Library and Vue Combo Library.

Hope that doesn't sound too confusing.  It has worked great for me so far.

Mari-Anne, thanks for the advice. If I understand you correctly, you have your three libraries set up basically like Poser runtimes.  How do I set it up so that Vue 10 will access my Vue 9 library?  I only know how to add individual collections, not the entire library.

Checked resent posts on the Eon forum and a couple of people said that they copy their entire Vue 9 library into the Vue 10 library and tell it not to overwrite. That way all their content is in one library.  That would be the ideal, but I want to be sure this won't cause problems. Has anyone here tried that?

Renderholic - I basically have used the same library for years. I just change the name of it to mirror the new version. Basically I do  what you read in the Eon Forum. If there are a number of new items I copy them in from the new content, especially scenes. Since with Infinite there has not been much new for the past few versions, I am not too concerned. I always keep a copy of the library I am presently using on an external drive just incase something happens.

I have been adding each library individually, i.e. I open the Material library in Vue 10 and there, I click to add a new Collection and then browse to the Vue 9 library.  Then I repeat the same procedure for the Object library, Atmosphere library, etc.

I think this method should work just fine too.  This way, you'd retain the most recent version of an object/material/atmosphere etc. but still add items you have purchased and placed in your Vue 9 library.
