Subject: MAT Pose creation plugin

Does anyone know of any good mat pose creator plugins for poser? I want to look at more than one plugin if there are and some that are supported for newer versions of poser rather than way back pre poser 6 ish.

Is the shortage of mat pose creation software, for newer versions of Poser, not to do with the fact that newer versions of Poser use mat files, .mc5 and .mc6?

I guess maybe you're needing to combine pose or morph injection data in with the mat data though?

Anyway, really just interested to know if there's an answer to your question... so tagging onto this thread, if that's okay.

Cheers ;-)

There's PhilC's Pz3Editor... while it's an external app (windows only), It does just about every kind of poser utility task there is. I'm really surprised that Semidieu's Advanced Shaders doesn't do this but I was just playing around with it in poser and, apparently not.

It's as monkeycloud stated, .mc5 and .mc6 pretty much eliminate the need for Mat pose.

Cage does have a python script that can extract material information from various file types and create Mat Poses...not really too sure about it, though.

Doesn't that old netherworks script work in poser versions past 5?

Creating a mat pose in a text editor is so easy, I'm surprised there isn't at least one script out there that does this and is functional in more recent versions of poser.

I save the material collection (extension: mc6) and open it in a text editor. There i exchange the word "mtlCollection" with "figure" and save the file with the extension pz2. Then i put it in the appropriate pose folder and am done. No need for a plugin.

I tend to want to do the reverse... whenever I get supplied with a MAT pose... he he ;-)

I guess the reason for having a utility would be for doing this on a batch of files perhaps?

In which case writing a little standalone app might be the way to go I guess? If someone was contemplating this...

Poser File Organizer by D3D can convert an all runtime MAT pz2 to mc6 in just a few minutes and keeps real pz2 (poses, morphs injection) untouched.

I have a script that extracts a mat file from a prop or figure, but with the newer mc6 files it became somewhat obsolete.

I use to save a different version of a prop for the material sets and then generate a mat pose file as a batch job. Now I simply change the props in poser and save the mc6.
