Welcome to the forum shutterfly... Interesting concept and lighting. Can you tell us how you did this?

that is some psycho back lighting!

I think it is a wonderful self portrate, and if you don't mind my saying, you a beautiful woman. But back to profesonal mode... Was this shot on film, slide or digital? I would love to see a higher resolution vertion of this, and think that the scanner you used didn't do it justace. I have to sat that I also agree with Alpha about the lighting. it gives a darkangel felling when considering your facial expression. -Gabe-

my actual advie would be to get the fram of the picture tighter around you. A lot of negative space above you that messes with my eyes personally. I agree with gsalas, but i don't know how old you are gsalas, and me thinks shutterfly is more my age... meow, wonder what Alison would think if I... umm... I think I'll shut up before a sexual harrassment suit comes from either shutterfly or my girlfriend, lol. ry

I used a crappy digital camera to take this shot. I wanted to use my 35 mm so the image would have been much clearer. But you never can tell how a slef portrait will turn out being you can't see it when the shutter actually clicks. I used a floresecent light in the back ground and spread my dress out (which was white) to catch the yellow glare. My hair is blonde so it caught some of the light also. The red just seemed to appear some how... I'm not real sure from where. I did darken the photo in Photo Plus... Thank you for all the compliments.

Hi Shutterfly, I agree with Slynky however a closer view sill also result in seing less of the body which I think is not your intent. Where did the red come from only you know. Did you adjust your saturation in Photo Plus? If so that could be the source. Also for flourscent lighting removal filters Kodak makes a pretty good program which does a decent job of removing the yellow tint from photos which have the charateristic flourescent yellow color. That was a white dress? It's red nonw! =:-) Nice picture. ( like the light buy the way. It looks like an eye side ways. If you do decide to change the picture keep the eye there. Bsteph

Wierd..... with color film, flourescent light gives off a sickly green tint. Tungsten lighting gives off a very similar orange tint. I found this to be very strange that a CCD from a digital camera rendered flourescent light as tungsten orange. don't mean to be skeptic, but i still find it hard to believe that this photo was lit with flourescent light. Can someone clear this up for me? Nice photo otherwise. I agree that the composition needs to be cropped more tightly, self-portraits are hard to pull off. Keep at it, and I hope to see more work soon.

I own a digital camera. AND I get the yellow/green tint all the time. Especially with flourscent lighting. BTW. The software program distributed by Kotak I refered to earlier is no longer being sold. =:-( Sorry. Bsteph

Welcome, and like I said in galleries, post your pics here too. We would like to see, its much more easy to comment and share toughts here. I digged this pic, and still dig it. Your beautiful face gives strange contrast versus that psyco lights. And huh, it seems like you got big eye in left side of you. .n

Hi Shutterfly!! Hey, gal, you is cute!! (These heathens think too technically at times and seem to miss the obvious ;-) ) I have to agree with Bsteph, my Fuji (old) gave an orangey glow with flourescents too. I'm not usually critical, so all I'm gonna say is a little bit more light on your face wuold have been nice - at the moment the light seems to emphasise your, erm, upper half somewhat. Great for these pervs, but hey - some of us realise women have a face too!!!! lol! Cheers, princess! Mike (",)
