Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 22 9:27 pm)
Hi Kim,
Save as "Pose" in the Pose Library ... Dots are used as temporary storage.
You do not need to use the "Dots" unless you want to have the pose available with one click (on a Pose Dot).

Thanks, I had gotten differnet opinions is differnet articles I'd read.

You also get more options when saving to the library - such as the ability to include morphs or not, and to choose which parts of the figure to save if you want a partial pose for instance.
Pose dots are "all or nothing" - but they are very handy.
By the way, you can copy any pose that will work from the library - including advanced stuff that calls Python scripts and so on - to a pose dot for immediate availability. I seem to recall the dots are stored in different places according to your Poser version, so I won't attempt to give a step-by-step here.

An installation package should not overwrite the Pose Dots. The Pose Dots are for user data, overwriting any of them without explicit and prominent warnings, would constitute a malicious act, and could leave you open to criminal prosecution.

Hello, I was doing some reaching this morning and am a little lost on whether to save as pose or post dots. I'm using poser pro 2012 and have a couple poses I want to included with a shirt I made to list at Sharecg.
Is it best to save as pose or do I need to do pose dots?
Thanks
Kimberly
