I thought I spend today learning how to rig a jeans for Miki 4 but after hours of messing, I keep getting the same error. Here some screenshots, what am I doing wrong? What do I need to learn?

Rigging in picture is second post.

Thanks
Kimberly

Just a note. I did the exact same steps with V4 and had no problems. I have no idea why this is happening with Miki 4.

Did you use the Miki4 DEV Rig?

All the best.

yes I used the Miki4 Dev rig. I've been playing with V4 since I last posted trying to re create the problem but can't do it.

How did you group the jeans?

All the best.

Miki 4 is weightmapped, did you copy across the weightmapping?

No, that I didn't do on this image exactly because I don't really get weightmapping however I run philc OBJ2CR2 Miki4 and got the same problem. That Philc program does the weightmapping.

I honestly think the only way to correctly rig weight mapped figures is to use the Setup Room because it properly transfers the weight maps.  I've had absolutely no luck with any other method.

Import the OBJect file, all settings unchecked

Go into the setup room

Click on the Miki4 CR2, and when asked, respond No to the Grouping question.

Immediately return to the Pose Room, change the name on the Parameters tab to something other than Miki4, i.e., Jeans and then save the file to the library.

Now, the jeans will work without any changes, but I do use Poser File Editor to clean up the CR2 as there's stuff in there which is simply unnecessary and bloats your CR2.  If you plan to distribute the file, I would say this is a necessity.

Hope this helps.

It looks to me like the problem is with the character figure, not the conformer. The mesh of the character looks like it's been corrupted in some way, possibly by having an inappropriate weight-map, or morph, applied to it.

I got them working. I loaded Miki4, loaded the jeans obj, deleted Miki 4, when to set up room and loaded the Miki 4 dev and went back to pose and saved. Deleted everything. Opened Miki 4 and conformed the jeans.

Of couse I have one tiny small hole on the side of the pants I need to fix. Always something...

Thanks for the help
