yanked straight from the pages of RO.
They have no credits & are using the name of 'GalaStories 3D Fashion&Style' and are claiming to be a 'game'.
Some, including mine, are credited to a Misty Kane.
 I just don't feel this is right.

Apparently Misty Kane, who's name appears on some of the pieces is not the original poster. But merely tagged in them.

Get the page yanked via the admins.

It's copyright violation. She has to take them all down, or Facebook will do it for her.

Sharing is one thing, stealing is another.

Sadly, this kind of thing happens all the time and seems there is no way to stop it regardless of what laws are passed.  Some people think they can do whatever they want, but things are changing slowly.

I looked at both pages and it might take some time to find the owners of the images here at Renderosity and let them know their images are being used without permission.  The pages may or may not disappear and it is likely only those who are owners of the image(s) filing a complaint will have their images removed. Time will tell.

All we can do is inform each other of these violations when we come across them.

or is it reaching the point where you have to slap a huge watermark across the centre of your image ?

Maybe the site should put in code so that not just anyone can "save" your image unless you give permission to do so.  The image owner would have total control over his or her works and you would know who was asking for them.  It can be done but it won't stop the hackers.  It would be more work in PM's for the artist, but that might stop a lot of what is going on :o) 

A few artists are in a conversation with her now & she is refusing to take them down even though we are demanding it.

Then it's time to have FB admin step in ;).

Here's a thought. Why don't you guys get a bunch of artists together and make game content like the one you're successfully shutting down, put it on Facebook and make some money ? Seems like there is interest in what the person was doing illegally ...And you already are making images and posting them here anyway.  The flow of material would be virtually never ending.  Might help to pay for those store bought items. :o)

There is a fan base for something like Galastories, so why not capitalize on it ?

It's just a thought.

I would also suggest that vendors with stolen artwork should run the facebook app galastories and see if their products are in use legally.   I just ran it, and its a facebook game basically created with poser.

I reported a business for using a photo of mine on their main page header.

Facebook removed it within 6 hours. I was rather amazed.

The second site has apparently shut down completely after contacting me this morning.

my fellow, beloved 3D Artists, Vendors and Friends. I had some very nice Mailings with the girl behind that Site and Project... Because I thought I should do something. She is german like I am so it was easy for me to tell her what she did wrong and why and meke her sensible for copyright and respect of others work. What I can say and I believe her - she is ashamed of her behavior and what she did. It really nerver was in her intention to violate Copyrights and her English is to small to understand all. She feels really sorry and she wants to learn now how to use a 3D Program like Poser or DAZ Studio. I told her to get the Studio cause it is free at the Moment. And I will help her to find Freebies which she can use in the beginnings untli she is more sure to use the 3D Solution and then she will be costumer of Your products too. Well all started as an absolute beginner and found help by the proffessionells. So please take her excuse, she means it like she says, maybe some of us can help her. Unfortunately I use Poser and the Studio not so at DAZ Studio I am a beginner also, maybe the Studio User can help her learn the basics? Until she is able to do her own content using the Studio I will give her some Renders which are unfinished to Graphics cause I do a lot of Renders... from all Your amazing Products. So please give the Girl a chance - maybe help her for beeing an new 3D Artist and Enthusiast. I know You all as very lovely and generous Ladies which have my full Respect, Love and many of You have been my model, example. all of You are part of that what I can render today.. Thanks to You all and let us help her togheter. Maybe one of You has some unfinished Renders too which she respectly could use

That was really nice of you patty, to take the time and talk it out with her, in her native tongue even, which was best, since you could explain it in words she could understand.

I'm glad she got the message. Not only will she have fun learning 3D, she'll be much more pleased if she can use her OWN work for her game ;).

@winterclaw.. I thought the same.. then I saw some of mine ...

I mail ech day with her and she really understood and she is real thankful. She was a bit desperate, cause she really didn´t wanted to harm and hurt all the artists. She will now learn how to use a 3D Programm, it will be hard in the beginnings, but we all had all this moments at the begin when we thouhght we never can do this... just when we have seen the perfect Artwork of Artists which used it longer. I had hard beginnings, bad hardware, but now it works after 12 Years of pain ;-)) But with the help of You it worked. I have heard a lot of lies and unreal complaints by people thet ripped, sometimes I thought this cannot be true. But in this special case I felt that its odd and she proves and demonstrate it after I talked to her conscience and I gave her studies about copyright laws, the use of programms and how many time we all take for do the renderings, the costs we have and what Vendors must invest... She is even thankful of all Your complaints which showed her that she was wrong and she is full of apology.
Its not her Game, she is just a Fan of it - the Gamemaker uses licenced products and use a 3D Programm for it

I know how upset You all had been and the Misty Girl don´t makes it easier with her bad words. But Misty is not the person behind. If its happen too often that the work is stolen, altered, even sold or unclaimed by the credits or the thiefs say they did it, then we all are mad, unhappy and feel raped and violated. because to many thiefs are impertinent and rude. Manuela, thats her name was overwhelmed and she is full of regret. Thats the difference to the others and so I gave her a chance to make amends and it better and in the further future maybe by herself...

Thanks to all of You - our Community is loyal and stand together.. we are not alone and belong to ech other ans help us, make us great Renders.. I thank all the vendors for their great products and the other artists for inspiration and the ability that I am gettin better

Well, there's no 1 link, you have to actually put forth some effort, type in key words, and search for what you are trying to do.

OR, just browse through the threads, and sometimes you see posts about things you've never even thought of doing, but someone has figured it out, and has some tips or tricks.

It's a melting pot that you have to filter out some of the bull-crap, but when you do find those little gems, it's worth it.

apology accepted rooster, i did think posting LOL at the end of my statement might point towards the fact that i was being a taj silly..............

I actually forgot about that thread. But it doesn't include many of the singule tips and tricks you find in 'problem specific' threads. Like bagginsbill's shaders, which are scattered all over this site, and a few others. But it is a good starting point for anyone just learning the ropes and wanting to jump in feet first.

Just a note that this was reported to our Renderosity copyright agent and she has been working with facebook for a few days to help with this as well. So great job to everyone that banded together on this issue!!

I'm glad it was resolved so quickly, and we will most likely be getting a new member out of it.

Thank you, Stacey. She was spoken to in German several times while we were trying to get her to take the art down, so she did actually know what we were saying.
Over & over she refused to remove any art & was quite insulting to several people.
And went as far to say to some of us that we had no real rights to our own work.
"Once its on the web, its fair game."
Which is the reason there were so many angry artists. We all would have been happy to help otherwise. A few even offered & were told to 'bug off'.
I'm glad she 'changed her tune'. Being threatened with reports to the FBI & Dept of Justice has a way of breaching all language barriers.
