I am trying to create this sort of effect using shaders and masks, I remember a thread some time ago BB posted showing a dusty wooden surface, so thought that might be the direction for the prints, ideally I am trying to avoid using seperate props for the droplets and the print. Any ideas guys?

Wow...I'd love to know how to do this as well.

Here's a wild guess.... EZYSkin on an object using the wet skin mode?????

For a hand print on misty glass, I would have thought a transparency map with a mid grey background and black hand print would do the job. No idea how to do the water drops though.

How about combining BB's glass shader with lesbentley's suggestion and then plugging either a "Spots" node with a Spot Size of 1.0 or less and Softness of 0.2 and Threshold of 0.6 or so with colors white and black into displacement or simply making a displacement map with dots (some distorted like rain drops) and plugging that into displacement... I'm sure it's possible... I think it would just be a matter of getting the displacement values right and also getting the Fresnel settings right also.

those are good ideas, Les and icandy, I shall have a play and if anyone is interested in the results post my attempts here........edit...just found a link on RDNA to BB's water on glass shader mt5. seems like it is just what i'm looking for

here is something I came up with really quickly.  Im using my computer remotely so its a little difficult, hence the lack of tweaking!

I grabbed a hand print image off google, and made the hand black and the background white using photoshop.
