I'm trying to create on a spaceship of mines in bryce like how the red and blue lights on a plane flash at night I'm been trying to create a glow color like that but it isn't working does anybody have any good idea's on how to do that?

You could create a sphere, set the material to 'fuzzy' and 'additive', then you can position it at the light, and it should produce a type of glow/halo effect. Another alternative would be to add the glow in photoshop.

Are you trying to animate it? Also you can set your light to be soft and fuzzy in the light lab. Then in the light lab animate the colors, and then in the advanced motion lab set 1 keyframe to on 100% then another key frame to o% and then just make it repeat by shift clicking the light in the AML.

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

Easiest way if not doing animation is post worked.  Mask everything except light.  Make new layer of light only.  Gaussien blur that layer.  Blend it with the the complete image.
