I just recently got really into graphics and am curious as to what do you actually do with Poser. I see that people create bodies( for lack of a technical term) but what do you do with these bodies, and textures, and all that stuff. I really would like to know before I plunk down cash Thanks in Advance Melissa @ Plugin Party http://www.elisablaze.com

Well, you could take a look at the galleries here to see some of the still images that people have created with Poser, but there are also animation capabilities that you don't see as much of.

If you want to see a neat animtion, check out the one at the link provided. It's a little movie by DAZ3D, who make models and other assorted things of fine quality. There's been a few links in the forum here lately about animations as well, so those may be worth checking out. Why do I use it? To maintain a healthy level of insanity, of course. :)

Think of poser as digital barbie dolls, you can pose them dress them, hand with the right software add-ons you can make them talk. But unlike barbie, you can make them individuals with different faces and bodies.

Poser *can* be used for serious things. I use it heavily in creating "interactive textbooks". (I also play with it even more heavily; in fact the play teaches me the techniques needed for the serious stuff!) For a fairly simple example, here's a demo of static electricity, used in an introduction to electronics for non-technical students. This is a flip-card animation; in the real multimedia program I don't use GIFs but rather a set of individual images that can be timed and sequenced by math functions to move in various ways. .......ockham
