Subject: Help with Demension 3d's dson loader python script

tonymouse ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2013 at 5:05 PM · edited Fri, 03 January 2025 at 2:22 AM

has anyone used this script recently, I can get it to load .DUF stuff but when I try to use it to load a .DSF one I get the following error MSG.

Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:Program Files (x86)Smith MicroPoser 9RuntimePythonposerScriptsScriptsMenuD3DDSONLoader.py", line 22, in os.rename(dsf, duf) WindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied

I have a Site mail out to Demension 3d. but havent heard back yet and wanted to check here with you guys too, I am not a particulary PYthon savy guy but I know many of you are so if anyone know what this problem is and how to fix it I would be very greatful

I am reposting this cuz I think I just posted it in the wrong place. ;(

Looks like a file permission error.

It's maybe because the file you're accessing is in your "Program Files (x86)" directory?

If so, copy the file into your "My documents" folder and try it...?

Thanks I'll give that a try.

Haven't used the new DAZ formats a lot myself, but I thought only DUF could be processed into Poser, and not DSF.

I thought it was only DUF it handled too.

From that snippet of Python it looks like the D3D script is trying to do something, at least, with the DSF file. Is it meant to be able to convert the DSF... somehow??

Ah, I see from re-reading the spec on the D3D website that it does indeed apply DS4 and above saved DSF format shaping presets...

it turns out it is alocation permission thing so thank you monkeycloud

Cool - glad you got it working :)

Good to know the script handles DSF shaping presets too...
