Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
I picked it up as soon as I saw it, but I've not yet had the chance to REALLY play with it. In one scene I've been working on (testing things really), it's done a wonderful job of making things work out better for me (getting things to fit better, etc). If you want to use Vicki's clothing on a "non-standard" body (hers I mean), this is the way to go. I'll see about tinkering around with it some more later and see if I can come up with any other impressions.
Picked it up last night. So far from what I can tell it's great especially for the sale price. I did run into one problem. The bikini bottom isn't working, all the morphs are listed but they aren't doing anything. I already sent an email to DAZ but I would be interested to see if anyone else ran into the same problem. I'm on a mac using Poser pro pac ver 3. All the othering clothing is working fine.
To otaku - The bikini bottom is an "aw shit" but I'm not sure what the cause is. We had one other user, also on a Mac with Pro Pack, that reported a similar bikini bottom problem during testing but we could never replicate it on any of the other PC's or Mac's we tested on. Please send as much info as possible on your OS and Poser setup to Daz and we'll try and track it down. Best case is that it's something stupid I did, which can be fixed. Worse case is that it's Mac ProPack related. FYI for the3dwizard - I actually started this project back in December of 2000 when the pro pack came out. I've put in over 500 hours of development over the last 10 months resulting in more than 2400 lines of Python script code. However, I can now generate clothing morphs from a morphed figure much faster (==cheaper) than can be done by hand. What I've done is produce a general purpose set of scripts. Vicky 2 and the Daz Girls just happened to be the first two figure/clothing sets on which I used them. To all- I welcome any and all user feedback, good or bad. Positive feedback helps me know I'm going down the right path and negative lets me know what doesn't look right or needs to be fixed.
jbrugion, I have no doubt a lot of hard work went into your product and I am sure that all the up front work you did will pay off. I am also sure that using scripts is better than doing it by hand. It was not my intent to belittle you, the work or the product. However, with the shear number of morphs and all the work that went into it I would have expected it to sell for more. I think that we as venders in this 3D space sometimes tend to under value our work. This may be good for the customers but may not be good for the venders in the long run. I am sometimes guilty of this myself. Just think a couple of years ago a detail model might have cost $500 dollars becuase of all the work put into it. However, you can get highly detailed models for less than $70. Thus the basis for my previous comments. However, I do wish you and your products well.
jbrugion, As I said I sent the info to DAZ and gave them my contact info if they need it. I'm sure as you say it's probably a simple error or a mac ProPac problem. I've been having trouble with morphs since using the propac, usually an error refering to the inability to read a geometry file. That could be the cause of the morph problem it's just strange how it works with some files and not others. I also want to say I'm very pleased with the set and your scripting sounds like it will take poser up another notch it making it a high end 3d program. I also have 3dwizards set and I'm also happy with it, the magnets have helped alot, and the Voluptuous Vicki morphs sound like a great addition to that set.
The real value of a standard morph sets or model is much like any standard. Things grow from them. Vickie out of the box isn't much to brag about. But look at the versatility she has aquired through the hard work of texture artists, morph wizards, and material pose makers. Same goes for the standard morphs. As artists adopt them they make and graciously post textures and other cool things for them. Thanks to both of you for making and promoting your morph sets.
Marque - which operating system and poser and pro pack version are you using? Yours is the first time we've heard of a PC problem with any clothes in this set. I am re-reviewing the bikini bottom file but nothing has jumped out at me yet. Please let me know which clothes are giving you problems and which aren't so that we can try and find a common thread. Given the pattern or working and not working this is shaping up as some kind of weird file format twitchiness, possibly pro pack related.

Has anyone already purchased this and can tell me if it's worth the prize? The pics at DAZ look great, but how is it in practice? Thanks in advance for your comments.
