Subject: Shoe Adaptation

quietrob ( ) posted Thu, 28 February 2013 at 9:37 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 5:42 PM

I wish to adapt shoes for different characters.

If I take the OBJ of the shoes, stretch the mesh using magnets, and then save the OBJ will the OBJ remain deformed?

If Phil is around, Does Wardrobe Wizard work on Shoes?Such as the stunning High Heels I see here on Rendo?

Thank you.

Yes Wardrobe Wizard works with shoes however for more detailed models you may find that the Shoe Converter will give better results. Please read the instruction carefully.

Wardrobe Wizard :- Pretty much a no brainer conversion but not super wonderfully on fine detail. If you already have the required support files I suggest at least trying this method. Review the tutorials. You have nothing to loose save a few minutes time. http://www.philc.net/WW2_help.php

Shoe Converter :- Retains the detail but is not a one click solution. It is well within the scope of a competent Poser user but a novice may need a couple of attempts to become fluent at it. http://www.philc.net/ShoeConverter_page1.php

Yes.  In fact, you could then then go to Object>Load Morph Target, load the modified obj and have it as a dialable morph of the original shoe...

Phil and Bagginsbill. It's like getting a reply from Lucas and Tarentino. After 5 years I'm still a novice compared to you two. Thanks for replying to this plebe!

@PhilC.  The two Figures in Question are V4 & A3. I was pleased to get the Converter up and running from reading your notes with no problems! However, until I purchase their expansion packs, it seems I will be a standstill. The First of the Month, rent is due and you know what that means! I'll try and purchase at least one of them on my rent free payday, If I can purchase both V4 and A3 at once, I will.

I agree that the Shoe Converter seems like the best idea. Some of those shoes are quite detailed and that is their selling point. I need to get those details in their as well as their morphs. It may seem like a bit pricey but when you consider it's power and long term use, it's quite a deal. The great shoe makers like AL3D and Arrin aren't going to make these incredible Heels and sultry sandals for Aiko 3 so it's up to me. The shoe converter could be the best deal there is. I'm not a novice but I'm no Snow Sultan or Ironman13 either.

@Bagginsbill. I'm going to try this method of stretching the V4 Shoes to fit Aiko 3's less than anatomically correct feet (along with Dark Seal's Foot Morph), and then Load Morph Target etc. It would be nice to simply dial in the change. Even Save the Morph so all of the sexy shoes and boots could contain the morph and I could use full outfits of V4 with my favorite character instead of mixing and matching and retexturing.

Once again, thank you both!

If you export each shoe seperately , then import each shoe , you may be able to use the scale dials to adjust them. You can then use them as parented props.
