hello,

i was studing about the magnificent editor funcion. in the input nodes, i was testing some funcions like: distance to camera, position on picture, distance to object center, ray direction world, and so on...

and i was inquiring myself, where those functions and what cases they are well applied

Questions we are asking ourselves too.... Except for Distance to object center, this one is easy. Use this node to drive the blending of 2 color nodes for an ecosystem population. Depending on the distance an ecosystem instance is to the underlying object center, one or the other color node will be applied to the instance. There is a tutorial about this function in the manual.

Function editor video tutorials ( Vue 7) it's time for me to update them http://www.geekatplay.com/vfe.php

As examples: Distance to camera you can use to switch resolution or texture when your camera get closer to object or terrain. Distance to object center, use in many ways to calculate influance of object on terrain/ecosystem ..etc.
