There's only one way, you have to create a trans map.
Open the image texture of the dress, select the part of the image external at the edges of the dress texture, cancel the selected part or make it black, invert selection and cancel the dress texture or make all white, find the part(s) you don't want to be shown, select and make them black.
Try the texture, load it as texture map in "Diffuse_Color".
When you're satisfied, restore the right map in "Diffuse_Color", load the map in the "Transparency" channel -> New Node -> 2D Textures -> image_map and set the dial to 1.0.
You can also add the same node to the "Transparency_Edge" channel and set it to 1.0.
Quick Instructions:
Get the template for the object you are making it for
Put it in a Graphics editor like Gimp or Photoshop as layer 1
Put the actual texture template as layer 2 (under)
Put a layer 3 all white on the bottom (turn off)
Turn the opacity of Layer 1 (on top) down so you get a grid on the of the template on the texture
Make a new Layer 4 on top that is transparent.
Paint black things you dont want to see
When done, turn off layers 2 & 3, and save as a jpg (Black on white)
On the materials tab, plug it into the transparency node, and increase the value to 1.0
BAM!

Hello all and hope your lives are full of creativity
I was wondering if someone can point me to a tutorial what will teach me how to make TRANS MATS for an outfit.
I would like to use this dress to make a 1940’s style high wasted half slip for a vantage style series I’m working on; the kind of half slip that would go under a high waste Pencil skirt
I at first thought I could just make the chest part invisible in Poser but it does not make the entire top of the dress invisible as you can see in picture #4. So now I’m thinking that if I can make a Trans Mat that will start just above of the little decoration below her breast or maybe below, it would work ok for me.
Please can anyone direct me to a tutorial that can help me learn how to make Trans Mats?
type if skirt it would go under
Thanks much
