I'm wondering what on earth I did this time. I'm pretty sure her eye isn't supposed to look like this!

Suggestions, please?!

thanks,

mystmaiden

Image is not large enough but it looks like self reflection.

sorry was trying not to clog up the forum too much. Here it is bigger

I tried changing to a different eye but the results are very nearly the same. Turning off the reflection in the pose library did not seem to work.

turn off transparency for eye white materials

Looks like light or glow coming from inside of head.  Or eye is immune to lighting in front of it.  Without a complete image, it's hard to tell where and what kind of lighting yours is.

Here's the image at present. I rendered it with cast shadows and raytracing 2 bounces. I haven't tried turning off the transparency on the eyewhite yet.

Could be high reflection for the eye.

Disconnecting the reflection node on the schlera worked! Was that because of the way I had the lights placed?

I don't know what cranked up your eye's reflection value.   But viewing your scene in context allowed me to see where the light source was.  Placing your light should not affect the material of your eyes.  Maybe the light you're using alters reflection values though, depending on if it was a custom studio light for rendering metallic objects for example.

I ran into a similar problem when trying to render V4's eyes behind glasses. If your character's eyes originally used the Fresnel node, as I did on the spectacle lenses, that could cause the problem.

The linked thread goes into some detail if you're interested.
