Subject: I'm having a clothing problem in Poser 9

Hi,

I'm having a VERY frustrating issue in P9 that I haven't experienced in any earlier versions of poser, and am hoping that someone here might be able to give me some advice.

I am finding that if I pose a V4 figure and carry out various tweaks to the conformed clothing to get it to fit perfectly and then save the file. When I open the file again the clothing will (sometimes) have reverted to its default parameters minus my tweaks , though the parameter wheels/sliders will still show the settings I have input. (?!)

The odd thing is it appears to be fairly random. I have had instances of opening a file; the character's shirt has 'reverted', I then have to reload the clothing afresh to be able to make the tweaks again. When I save the file again and re-open it , it may be fine, or it may now be the trousers that have flipped out! Once this has occurred it seems closing and reopening the file forever has these changes, even though no 'saving' has been carried out.

I wonder if this is an issue with cross-talk clothing (is there a way of 'locking' these once you have made changes to them? Alternately could it be because I have installed Poser 9 to a location other then its default (in my case F:/Poser9)

Sorry if this is a bit long-winded, but if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,

I use Poser Pro 2012, but I have seen it there sometimes. See if "Use External Binary Morph Targets" is checked under General Preferences, Misc. If it is, uncheck it and try again. It may not work, but it's worth a try.

Poser Pro 2012 SR3

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

Intel Core I7 990x 3.46G 6 core

24G RAM

EVGA GTX580 R Video Card

Single HP LP2475 1920x1200 monitor

I would agree with Toxicwolf.  If external binary morph target is active, uncheck the feature, reload the file, and resave.  The PMD might be incorrectly loading with complex scenes.

Many thanks guys, I'll give that a try. I'm pretty new to P9 (my last was P6) so am finding lots of new stuff to learn.

Cheers!

The ability to save external binary morph targets has not changed, but IIRC the current Poser installation has that feature checked as a default.
