Subject: Normal maps in Carrara

I have Carrara 7.2 Pro.  I bought an Inagoni plug-in Deeper that is supposed to create and display normal map textures in Carrara.  I can't get Deeper to work at all.  Does anyone else have Deeper and have been able to use it?  Also, would a program like Crazybump or nDo work?

Deeper works to generate normal maps FROM Carrara Geometry. It also was able to render normal maps as texutres prior to that function being embedded in Carrara.

So, you can use Deeper to 'take a picture' of your scene to generate normal maps to match and enhance exising geometry.

However, if the goal is simply to create texture maps that also have a normal map bump included, CrazyBump is super. That's what I use.

Hi, I use Deeper to render NormalMaps in Carrara 7.2 or less, only Carrara 8 have normal maps as default.

I use ShaderMap Pro to generate my normal maps:

http://shadermap.com

Filterforge also generate NM for almost all theyr presets and its amazing.

Smart Normal also can generate NM for free:

To create normal maps from your geometries theres also Smak, that is free now:

Thank you GK, I hadn't heard of these programs before.  Shadermap Pro especially looks   like a good one to buy.

There's also xNormal

It's free as well.
