Subject: More than 1 Vicky2 --> trouble

DocMatter ( ) posted Sun, 16 September 2001 at 7:36 PM ยท edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 9:25 PM

I'm trying to create a scene with more than 1 Vicky2, but after adding the second Vicky to the scene, she won't take any of her morphs. I turn the dials and nothing happens. Anyone else have this problem? I have the ProPack.

Known bug. Others have had the problem. These 2 links have proven helpful in the past. Tutorial: http://www.rbtwhiz.com/rbtwhiz_EMCPrintable.html#update null loader file: http://www.rbtwhiz.com/downloadables/MillenniumNull.zip Good Luck

what i do is when i load my first V2 char i press Alt-w then H ( brings up heirarchy window) then name my first vicky - name her anything ;) then i load my second one,.. do the same- giving her a diff name- it seems to help so far- unless i have just been lucky. Another way round that is to set up your first vicky2 and save her off in your library( again giving her a name) then set up your second vicky2. After setting her up and naming her- bring the first one back in- hope this helps.....good luck

Cheryle You have been lucky. The name that you give it does not affect the morph control problem. Every FBM/PBM has a name for a controlling figure. It is usually Figure:1, but unless you do something directly yourself, it will be Figure: something. If both have the same name in this ERC script, The one that Poser assigns that name to when you open will control the ERC morphs on all figures with the same name. It is not specifically a Vicki problem. Vicki is just generously supplied with ERC morphs.

I tried your method Cheryl, but it didn't work for me. I tried rbtWhiz's EMC fix and everything seems to work okay now. Thanks all for your suggestions!

Incidently, if you are using the null loader system (which works well for me!), one thing I haven't seen mentioned very often is you sould restart Poser if any figures (and by figures I mean figures and conforming anything) have already been loaded. Poser seems to assign numbers in sucession, and I don't think numbers get reused, and the null loader should be figure 1. BTW, I rename all my figures these days in everything I sell, it doesn't seem to hurt anything and it seems a lot easier to have a Supermodel and a Slingback R and an micro mini and San-Fran hair rather than figure 1, 2, 3 and 4. I don't know why DAZ doesn't do that. The names don't effect the crosstalk problem for better or worse, just makes life easier, I think!
