Subject: Question regarding the finessing of Poser dials.

Hi everyone!

I just picked up Poser 9 yesterday and am trying to switch over from DS 4.5 Pro. Coming from that piece of software I've found that the Poser dials seem rather finickey to work with.

I'm going to assume this is user error based on unfamiliarity with Poser. That said, I can't seem to grasp any other way to really finesse the dials as easily as I can in DS. Using my mouse on the dials seems very hit-or-miss.

So I've come to the community to ask... What am I missing? Are there any tips and tricks I should know beyond RTFM?

Thank you~!

Merry

double -click on the dial name, a menu pops up that you can change the dial sensitivity with.( smaller numbers for more delicacy)

Thank you so much!

So simple! I really need to sit down and RTFM from front to back. I think I miss a lot just trying to search for info (my search fu is very poor). Thank you again for answering a newbie. :)

Smith Micro have some tutorials for people switching over to Poser.

Here is Part 1:

Moving to Poser from Daz Studio 101: Part 1 - The Poser Library

Parts 2 - 4 are accessed via the menu on the right.

I hope this helps you to get up to speed in Poser.

Hi

You can also click on the little dots on either side of the dial to move the number one click at a time.

I usually use my mouse to get close and then give a couple of clicks on the side I want to move to.

If you shoot a mime, do you need a silencer?

Or you can do what I do and forget about the dials entirely.  I type the numbers into the boxes because it's a damn sight simpler.

This.  Also, I write down the dial settings in case I change something later or have another computer problem.  Easier to remake something if I can just type it all back in.

Yup - I tend to go with typing the numbers.

Or clicking the dots either side, if making a less subtle adjustment.

Rarely do I actually try and spin the dials...
