ok I have a big system for carrara set up. The problem is that Carrara wont let me select SMP. Does anyone have a way to make carrara see this?

On the Mac it doesn't work. On the PC you must have an OS that recognizes the second CPU like NT 4.0 or Windows 2000. Good Luck, Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com

yeah well this whole things is weird. I am using a win2000 system. In the environmental section it says that there is just one processor, but in the cpu usage meter that windows has, it shows two processors. To make matters even stranger when I run photoshop or after effects both cpu's show and start working. I just need to make carrara see that second one :) I can already tell that this is going to take many many painful hours to solve.

cutcopypaste, Now I'm really disgusted as I sit here with my measly two processors. I am so ashamed. Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com

well I didnt try any of what you just did, but your screen shots are going to help me a lot. when I get into the office I am going to try to set it up. Neither I nor my IT guy had ever used a dual proc before. Thanks very much for the screen shots
