In edit mode go to Select>Loose verts/edges. Then click "X" and delete vertices. This will remove any floating vertices and edges.

Okay, I just did a model in Blender for Miki 4 and had a heck of time trying to map it. I haven't figured out how to unwrap stuff in blender yet. But that's not my question. I was told that I had something on the order of 200 or more duplicate vertices and several tris that I didn't need.
How does that happen? As far as I can see my vertices are all accounted for , so how do I find any duplicates and get rid of them?
