If autosave function enable and computer or application crashed, you can after restart application, load back scene it was render (most time it will ask you if you want load autosaved version) then you can go to render option and click on resume render. Render will continue from the last saved point.
You can enabled shorter time increments between autosave.
Manual option, when you stop render and save scene file , it will ask if you want save render in progress. I always use that option, when i have long long renders and want to do something between. I will stop, save scene and render in progress, work on other project. Reload back first scene file and resume render after.
Auto save run on different thread in parralel to render.

its never asked me that when vue has crashed and ive reloaded at best ill get something along the lines vue didnt exit correctly there is a saved file do you want to recover (sorry forget exact wording) but no option to carry on the render which would be useful resume render is greyed out even though i always turn it on prior to rendering, i have tried stopping a render part way through , i would say 99% of the time vue will crash when i try to stop a render , this is only when I have a full ,scene when just a few parts no problem mainly happens if its populating eco system

Not a single period in this huge sentence. Only four commas (and most in wrong places too).
Unbelievable and impossible to understand.
I leave autosave turned off. Using Vue 9.5 Infinite which is stable for me compared to version 10 that has issues. I always save before I start a render. Autosave would just fill up with vue files that I'd have to browse through to see which one was a good scene before I messed things up.
When I do crash Vue tough, it saves my scene in a recover file before it bombs completely. And I can work from that file if I don't have a more current saved vue file. Sometimes, that recovered file will crash Vue. But that is rare.

odd question I know but in vue 10 render options under render destination is auto save every (default 30) mins . what exactly does it save? because sometimes vue crashes at the end of a render i usually render to disk and main view sometimes I have been able to get a screen grab and or its saved to disk , i have never seen a part finsihed image when vue has crashed before finishing nor does there seem to be a file that would allow the render to continue if its saving the scene , well thats a waste as i ALWAYS save before render just in case , but as most saves of a full scene can take 5 mins to save over a long render thats a lot of time spent saving that may be of no use to me any one can help?
