Hmmm false(ish) alarm.
I'm highly suspicious now. My firewall was approaching it's expiry date and I had yet to renew (still had 24hours). While the Library was having trouble and I found the post on firewalls I decided to renew to make sure it wasn't the problem. Renewed my license and ping, Library is now working.
I'd tried all sorts of things, rebooted my machine twice but no luck. Renew the firewall subscription and ping, all working.
Good job I'm not a cynical man isn't it :)

Thanks 3DFineries, I'd had a look at that one with no luck.
It's working now though, after renewing my firewall subscription.

No Problem. You can also go into IE & make sure "Work Offline" has an X mark next to it. It just happened to me & that fixed it. LoL Sometimes it happens for absolutely no reason. :)
Glad you got it working.

By the way, for the benefit of those new users who might see this thread, I'll clarify that Poser does not need internet (WAN) access, just local (LAN) access so that two programs can talk to each other within the confines of your computer. This is because Poser and it's external library are two separate programs. You can choose to use the embedded library if you like, and then even local access wouldn't be needed.
If you want to network render (using Poser's Queue Manager), then you need local access so that all the computers on your home network can talk to each other.

Anyone got any ideas? I read somewhere about it being a firewall thing, but I can't see anythign there that's causing a problem. Once minute I was happily making pose files, the next it was kaput.
