Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Just tried it on Rex and it worked as it should. Have you tried to go into advanced mode in the material room and see if it works that way?

Hi
Just tried that, same results....
I changed the name to Rosy to identify them.
Otherwise the files are the same, I put a large red dot in the middle of her forehead.
This is Before any change....
With new Texture...
The advanced settings are different then I remember I wasn't sure where to add the new texture but I changed the ones that were there and messed around, with it, nothing I did seems to have any effect.
You can see that it never changes in the Texture Preview Windows other then changing the lighting somewhat.
The one below shows the Advanced settings Windows after putting in the new texture, with no other changes made, it doesn't appear that it made any difference.

If you shoot a mime, do you need a silencer?
Ghostman is correct. The shaders for Rex and Roxie are quite complex, you need to edit them in the advanced material room.
Remove all the nodes in the material room. Then re-link the changed texture to the diffuse channel. Run EZ-skin. You may have to set it up for Roxie, I don't have a definition for her yet.

The only thing I really did was to change the texture image. I didn't delete any of the nodes.

Hi again...
Can you tell me exactly what you changed I can't seem to find the right place to put in the new texture...
This is what I see when I open advanced textures, with nothing touched.
I can get it to change the texture by changing the Alternate_Diffuse and Alternate_Specular, but that just gives me a vey bright image unaffeced by lighting.
I know these aren't where the acctual texture is supposed to go, but they were the only ones that made any difference.
I just went through deleting things until the image map dissapeard from the figure.
I don't see an entry that indicates new Texture Map?
I tried changing the maps for Image Map_2 and Image Mape_4 but that doesn't do anything.
Thanks for the help,
Mike

Mike, the textures are using the alternate diffuse and alternate specular inputs. Yes, the color texture map is plugged into the diffuse input, but notice that the value is 0. The color texture map is actually producing its effect by driving a chain of scatter/HSV/diffuse/blender nodes on its way to the alternate diffuse input jack.
You would need to change this image map. Use the advanced material room. adding a new map to the diffuse jack will only brighten the texture.

Hi
I just got PP 2014 installed and when I replace a texture in the material room nothing happens.
Here's an example.
I loaded Rex, replaced the head texture with one I lightened and drew a mustache on and it doesn't show.
Note that the image in the Material Preview Windows doesn't change?
I've tried this with Roxy too, I left everything else the same, put a red spot on her forehead and when I load the texture no Spot.
Anyone have any idea what's going on here?
This is the way I've done it in every other version of Poser.
Mike
The one below has the Mustache added see the little texture image. The mustache was not on a layer or anything like that just a flat image I just changed the name.
