Agree, normally I have my system like this:-
Read MeLROGname of file.
THis way, all my read me's go to a single folder called Read Me, then into my LROG folder with the name of the item:-
Example:
Read MeLROGCookie Coat Collection 01
The main thing is to try and get a definitive for the first folder, Read Me, ReadMe etc.
There are so many versions and so, I'm trying to find the best variation for most users.
All the best.

Mine tend to go: (Name of Product)Readme, so it's easy to find.
Mine also tend to be informative and - once in a while - amusing.

He appears to be asking about the folder name/location (?) The stock Poser location is Runtime:ReadMe
That's ReadMe, not read me, nor readme's (which would be a possessive, not a plural). The ReadMe folder is within the Runtime folder, not beside it.
As to the naming of a given item's readme file/folder within Runtime:ReadMe, I would like the name of the item (and creator if it's a generic-sounding item name). "Readme" is useless as a title; if it's in the Runtime:ReadMe folder and it's a text file, I can already figure out that it is a readme file; it would be more helpful if it was named so as to indicate what item (out of a myriad) this particular readme file is for.

The folder, I'd prefer to be just readme. That way all the readme's are together and I don't have to hunt them down. Of course I move those along with the content when installing everything. The file name should be readme(filename) or (filename)readme so I can find it again. And I'd prefer that if you title your item "Morphing Fantasy Dress"* on the web site but name the cr2 MFD please call the readme readmeMFD because I may not remember that it is actually Morphing Fantasy Dress in 4 years when I need to know the use restrictions.

Quote - Just wondering how people feel about read me files folder titles.
Normally I have Read Me, outside of the Runtime.
The product submission guidelines are pretty clear on this.
"Readme and License must extract to a "Documentation" folder. The Documentation folder should be in the root of the zip (not within the Runtime: path)….. The Readme file must be named "ProductName_Readme" to avoid Readme files overwriting other Readme's."
And that would be for people doing paid for items.
I just do freebies at the moment.

Why would the preferred format for free items be different from the required format for paid for items?
If all the merchants are required to use that format, it follows that a lot of people (everyone who has ever bought anything) already have a 'documentation' folder. It doesn't make much sense to introduce a different one for freebies.
I can post my freebies to any freebies section, I'm not limited to Renderosity.

Just wondering how people feel about read me files folder titles.
Normally I have Read Me, outside of the Runtime.
Example in the main Poser folder I have Runtime and Read Me.
So, what title and location is normally preferred.
This is just to get my new Zip upload files folder set up right.
All the best.
