Hello.
If you have Reality 3 then you don't need anything else but LuxRender.
There are two ways of installing: there is an installed, a program that runs and installs Lux, or an archive. The archive is a file that explodes into a directory with the Lux executable. From there you just need to copy it to the "C:Program Files" directory.
Make sure that you configure Reality to point to the directory where you install Lux. That is described in the Reality User's Guide.
Cheers.

You are looking for Pose2Lux, which Snarly now has here:

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Pret-a-3D: If I install Luxrender ,the one that installs its self ,will I have a problem when it installs if my runtime is on an external hard drive ? I mean does it need to install in the Poser program on my system hard drive to work ? Or will it work if its installed on my external hard drive with the runtime? Will Reality 3 work with the same situations as above ?
Thanks .
Reality is far easier to use and has many more materials and lighting features, but Pose2Lux is free.
Installing Pose2Lux is a matter of copying the scripts to one's scriptmenu folder and setting the path to the material scripts.....

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Lux is just an external program. You can install it anywhere you want. The important thing is to communicate to Reality where is it. That is easily done, it takes a few seconds, by using the Renderer section of the Render tab.
Cheers.

Hi- I have installed Preta3D's Reality + LuxRender for 64 bit and when rendering a simple unadulterated figure such as alyson in Poser...wow..easy, fast excellent: HOWEVER. If I use a genesis figure in DAZ3D and add, maybe 6 body morphs with dials and some skin textures, then DSON import that character into Poser Pro 2012 then maybe do EZSkin 2 and then try to render the character, I keep getting error messages. The luxrender messages are error 43 "mesh has out of bounds triangle vertex index (numbers given and then (another number P values were given...then after 2 or three of those, the error message 14 renderer slg failed.
I also get a recurring mainWacros error trackback from ReGeometryExporter.py line 393 in exportObject KeyError: (426,426)... although I think that last number has not always been the same
Anyone have any idea where the error is occurring? thanks Brett
There are many issues at all levels with Genesis in Poser. At this point, until DAZ addresses them, I suggest to use Poser native figure.
Cheers.

Reality 3 makes getting good results with LUX very easy!! For installation just follow the instructions provided with Reality 3, they are pretty easy to to follow. I install LUX in it's own folder on C:, makes it easy to point Reality to. It also makes it easier to use newer versions of LUX (just install them in their own version number folder in the LUX folder). LUX is great if you don't mind longer render times, and like to use your own lights, shaders, etc. It's not as close to the "Make Art" button as many made for Poser products are (where you get the shaders, lights, etc. pre-setup for you by the vendor), but it's just about as close as you can get with an external renderer.
IMHO Reality 3 is well worth the price and is a top notch bridge to LuxRender, which is an awesome product .... that is free. If you haven't seen it, check out the render thread for Reality 3 here: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2866891
(I really need to do another render to post, unfortunately RL seems to always take too much of my time.)

I am interested in luxrender and am a little confused by a couple of things .
Firstly the site offers two downloads for windows 7 64 bit Poser 2012 , they are an archive file and an 7zsfx file .which of these file do I need to install ? Secondly apparently you need a file that imports the pose file into luxrender and the file is at snarlygrub ,which that site is down . Do I need this file ? as it appears that if I have the luxrender file all i need is reality 3 .As reality 3 does the same job .Is this correct?
If anyone can clarify this for me I would really appeciate it .Thanks.
