Subject: Ghostbusters for Rex & Roxie by: seachnasaigh

I have just downloaded Ghostbusters for Rex & Roxie  by: seachnasaigh.

Which version of Poser did Rex and Roxie start in?

Its contained file RexJumpsuit.obj seems to be a conforming garment, but it contains only 2 groups: 'constrained' and 'dynamic'. What sort of clothes-fitting mechanism is it designed for? Which version of Poser did that clothes-fitting mechanism start in?

Rex and Roxie are new Poser figures from Poser 10/ 2014.

But how is RexJumpsuit.obj fitted to Rex? It does not look like Poser-4-type conforming. Is it intended to be fitted by draping? Or by some new clothes-fitting mechanism?

As it says in the readme, the jumpsuits are dynamic and require fitting via the Cloth Room.

I'll have to see if I can tweak these. Since we have real proton packs and gear, I can check the accuracy size wise.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

Anthony, what version of Poser are you using?  I still have the zips for the Aiko 3 & Hiro 3 set of P7 vintage (also Luke and Laura, and Cookie and Chip).  They had conforming suits but I never solved the "icicle" issue.  I probably could now, but dynamic cloth gives much better results.  The two groups you see are constrained, which follows the doll surface when posed, and dynamic, which is free to fold, crumple, hang loosely, etc.

The "preload" files are cr2s because they call for and load the SM dolls, then add all the Ghostbuster stuff to the doll in correct position and with proper parenting hierarchy. The intent was that you start Rex and Roxie in frame 1 at zero pose (I provide a pose file for that), and then set the doll's final pose in frame 60.  Run a dynamic cloth simulation for each jumpsuit.  The jumpsuits' dynamic parameters are already set up for you.

Actually, the new packs could be fitted to any other doll,  and you could re-texture one of your wetsuits to look like tan canvas, but in versions prior to P9 you'll need to hide (or delete from the scene) the emitter props, anything with Emtr in the name.

Anyway, let me know what Poser version you have, and what dolls you wanted to use.  I'm sure we can figure something out.

Gareee, with you being our resident ghostbusting expert, I'll gladly accept any technical corrections you suggest and consider them for incorporation in an update.

I have Poser 8.

Sorry :: in Poser language, what is a "doll"? I am rather an old-timer :: I started in Poser 3 times, and I did much of my work in Poser 4.

P8 will do fine, but you do need to hide/delete the props with Emtr or emitter in the name.  P8 has IDL, but it doesn't have the not visible in camera tick box with which to conceal the emitters.

Dolls?  Base humanoid figures.  Are you wanting to use James?  P4 man (aka "Dork")?  M3?

It occurs to me that perhaps I should make a P5-P8 set with only the proton pack/cable/gun/beam/ghost (no jumpsuit, no IDL emitters) for universal fit purposes.

Folks were clamoring for content for Rex & Roxie, so I knocked this set out as quickly as I could.
