hello people! i just installed the poser pro pack. now when i go to load a jpg as a bump map file in the render materials dialogue, it doesn't ask me if i want to convert it to a .bum file like it used to. instead, the file apears as a jpg. is this correct? do i have to do the conversion myself? or has curious labs made the process transparant so that your hdd doesn't get cluttered with .bum files? any help on this will be greatly appreciated. :-)

PPP dosent use .bum files anymore. I had to supply two sets of mat poses for my Ogre Textures one for PPP and one for P4 because of this. Doug

thanks for the info. so you need mat poses in order to do this? what's that all about? i'll head over to curious labs to find out. thanks for the pointer again!

George: You don't NEED mat poses, but they make the job of asigning materials much easier. Mat poses will set all materials, maps, color values, and transparancy values for the entire figure with just one click of the button, provided you have all of the components installed in the same directories as specified in the mat pose file. Now we just need DAZ to improve the file structure of Poser and we will be able to fully automate the process.
