Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 08 9:27 am)
Poser creates FBM-linked Custom_Morph dials in all body parts (possibly parented props, too...?) on a figure when the Morph Brush is used on any body part (possibly parented props, too...?), in recent versions. This auto-spawning of the FBM can lead to some Custom_Morph settings confusion, particularly when one or more actors on the affected figure has pre-existing a Custom_Morph dial created in an older version. I've encountered Custom_Morph dials unexpectedly being activated or deactivated or having their settings doubled, which can lead to come confusion. I am, of course, easily confused....
I've found it best to do as icprncss2 suggests, and spawn a new morph target when I use the Morph Brush. The Morph Brush tool palette should include a button to spawn a new morph from Custom_Morph, which will IIRC create a full FBM on the figure if used.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
Does it matter if one have Binary morph Targets on or off? I would think so - perhaps that's the culprit.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
yes the new morphs made do save. But like anything else its easy to lose the suckers
tip one - make a new morph with a name and not just CustoMorph
tip two - the morphs should save in the cr2 or a PMD
tip three - the new morph is automatically made with a BODY channel entry as well as bodyparts. Remember to look there too
PMD - if you have this option turned on anytime you save a scene or a figure to library (cr2) it will strip the morphs out and stick them into a pmd. if you lose the pmd or it goes bad, they are gone.
Most store only take content with the morphs in the library file, ie saves with OPMD turned OFF.

Say you create a morph on the abdomen of your figure with the edit tool and it creates a morph on all body parts when you only want them on the abdomen hip and chest. its easy to fix this, select the MT you just created and delete it. A box will pop up asking if you are sure you want to delete this morph and will list all morphs being deleted with all body parts checked, simply uncheck the ones for the Abdomen, hip and chest and click ok. The unwanted morphs go away leaving only the ones you want(this works with all linked morphs). Spawning a new Morph under the object tab (or exporting the body part as a MT) will create problems if you are working with an already altered character as it will include the current morphs, resulting in a mess, creating the morph within the edit tool only includes the 'custom morph' info you just created. :)
Y'all have a great day.

just started using the morphing tool. after using the tool to fix some poke through I saved the clothing as a new item...sometimes the morph saves with the item sometimes it doesnt...not sure why or what conditions need to be met for the morphs to stick.
