You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Thanks for the heads up. :)

Laurie, I can't actually remember that far back, but I found my Poser6 and Shade7 serial numbers saved together in the same text file, so I'm sure you're correct.
It's funny, my compulsion to collect and try out 3D software is matched only by my aversion to registration forms. I started the process of upgrading, got to the register page, and thought "meh".
I think I've been on the interwebs too long.

Shade 10.X was sort of the beginning of the "new era" in Shade. Shade 9 was actually almost ready to ship but it was mostly worked on during the E Frontier America days. I translated and localized a lot of Shade 10 from Japanese to English.
A lot of new technology went into Shade 10, but it still has much of the old style interface. Shade 12 introduced a new interface. If you love the Shade 10 UI, its possible to create a workspace in later versions of Shade that is almost the same (all the key commands are the same still).
Shade has multiple modeling paradigms, including its own curved surface tools as well as more traditional polygon tools. If you are going to keep what you are doing in Shade, curved surfaces work really well. If you need output that will work in other applications (like making props for Poser), then polygons are the way to go. It is possible to translate Curved Surfaces -> Polygon Mesh easily enough.
If you'd like to see some really cool things that can be done in Shade 10.5, check out the gallery... and a sample here:
Best regards,
chikako

Just thought I'd give a heads up in case you missed the e-mail.
