Subject: Call for VUE11 tutorials

cmcgaugh ( ) posted Fri, 21 June 2013 at 9:19 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 12:43 AM

Hi all,

I'm trying to get InfiniteSkills to have Mark Bremmer create an updated set of comprehensive (beginner~intermediate) tutorials for VUE11

Many of you may already know Mark and have his CDs.

Mark did an excellent set for VUE 8.5 at VTC .
http://www.vtc.com/products/Vue-8.5-Tutorials.htm

Mark has moved from VTC to InfiniteSkills, and would love to do a
complete set for VUE11, but the company needs to have requests
from potential customers before committing to produce the tutorials.

Mark is always well prepared, organized, clear, and easy going.

In addition to his VUE 8.5 tuts, I have a set he did on Carrara 7, and
can vouch he's a very good teacher & communicator.

Please email or call InfiniteSkills if you would like to have Mark do an updated
set of tutorials for VUE11.

phone:   858-866-9147 10-4 EST M-F

I'm assuming they would cost $99 US like their other CD sets.

Thanks!

That's odd.  What software are they making him do tuts for?  :)  I have his Carrara VTC disc.  He's good at 3D and explaining it.  And has that radio voice.

Hi Shawn,

"What software are they making him do tuts for?"

AnimeStudioPro is the only one that I know of so far....

I just hope we can get him to do VUE11 before he gets booked for other
tutorial sets.

Even so, I still hope Mark will do a set as well. It's always good to get different
perspectives, regardless of the app or subject.

BTW, I wish InfiniteSkills, VTC & Lynda.com, would consider reducing
their prices for CDs.  It hasn't changed ($99) , but it seems like an arbitrary
number, not based on a marketing survey.

If GeekAtPlay can give away their product (free online viewing) or charge only $35 for the CD set, why not the others? Or at least make the tutorials more affordable and competetive.

I think they'd gain a lot more customers and sell a lot more CDs.

Vue has probably the most user freindly interface I've ever seen. Geekatplay video's pretty much cover it all. Just view them from version 7 forward and it's plenty comprehensive.

The documentation in Vue covers everything really well also.

If there is a gap, it's in advanced tutorials on the function editor. I'd like to understand that better.

Hi blaineak,

GeekAtPlay does do a great job from basics to epic terrains, etc.,
and their VUE7 From the Ground Up is my main text (hoping for an updated
version at some point soon, too).

Also, the VUE11 User Manual is very well done.....an example for others.

If anyone is completely satisfied and totally happy with the available learning
materials, all well & good. I'm happy, but not satisfied, and want more.

I think Mark is a particularly good teacher, and hope InfiniteSkills will
give him the go ahead to do videos describing the basics and all the
new stuff since 8.5......maybe even ~11.5.

I'm frankly amazed at how relatively few tutorials & books, especially for VUE11, are
available, compared to other 3D apps of it's popularity & stature in the
industry. At least that's my perception.

Again, if anyone wants to have Mark Bremmer do a (cool) set of VUE11+
tutorials, please contact InfiniteSkills.

BTW, I do not work for InfiniteSkills.

I'd be interested in advanced function editor tut's as I said. Basic's though I think are well covered already.

I have no idea how many others would be interested in the same. I'd be glad to send a request for something in depth on the function editor.

I did not think you were spamming and it would not matter if you were.

I spend huge amounts of time testing to figure out what function will do what combined with other functions and a shorter learning curve for that would be awesome.

"Basic's though I think are well covered already."

I think each teacher covers it differently. I know I get a better understanding
when I use different trainers, regardless of the app.

**"I did not think you were spamming and it would not matter if you were." **

Thanks! I didn't think I was, but didn't think you thought I was either. =O

Not selling jewelry or food choppers. I'm just trying to get more up-to-date learning materials for VUE, videos & books. :)

Me, too.....I hope Mark (or someone) will do an advanced set on functions, nodes, etc.

Geekatplay gets my vote as well....

They get my vote as well. I love their tutorials, very affordable indeed and they are helpful. I haven't tried others, they're just to expensive for my taste. Perhaps one day I may buy one of quadspinners tutorials, but I do find them overpriced for what you seem to get. Didn't find their free trial ones better then the ones I got at GeekAtPlay.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....
