I tend to model my own designs, though I have done the odd fan art now and then. The reasons I jumped on this were:

  1. I'm sick of humans. I make people all day. Every day. I'm bored to death with it. Seriously....BORED.

  2. I had hoped to use some new techniques I'd learned about making dragon scales. Sadly, I picked the one dragon type that didn't have scales but because I'm an updstanding guy, I am going to complete the model. FML.

  3. I've been known to do the odd fan art model for folks now and then, so I figured what the heck?  The OP seemed genuinely desparate for a suitable model and none fitting the description exists in the Poser-verse currently.

If that displeases anyone that's really not my concern but feel free to ignore the thread.

:-) Will do.

I know you will find the right project for those scale techniques, Teyon. Judging from what you have accomplished here, with so little to go on, you are an incredible talent. Keep up the great work.

LOL, here's an idea... once everything is said and done, change the head and give the tail a spade or other type of structure! That way, you could use those new techniques for dragon scales.

It was just a thought.

Try Parrotdolphin's materials, a very nice suede texture is in the Leather collection. By the way, Daz Mil Dragon/Sub Dragon are definitely not shaped as Pern Dragons are. The way you sit upon a Pernese Dragon is more... ergonomic. This is a great idea, all you modelers could make a ton of money off a sleek riding dragon!!!

I have a texture that is more faceted, not perfect, but I will try to expand on it for you.

Is there water in your future or is it being shipped away to be resold to you?

Keep on keepin' on Teyon!

Pengie

I started a thread on novel aliens-it is here. Currently diverted into making an older Luke Skywalker character so no new Aliens for a bit. What I've posted already are modeled after a Chameleon I saw in a pet store-among other things.

I plan to. :)  Here's an update. The model is nearly done, there's a need to redo a few sections of the wing to avoid spiraling (unless I go the ghost bone route in the rig) but he's coming along. The model will probably be around 50-60K polys once done. No muscle cuts though - sorry, planning all that out is going to take longer than I have to dedicate on this but you should have more than enough polys to do whatever you need to morph-wise.  I may also need to change the hind toes. They match the illustration where the dragon's arms are shorter but all my research points to the toes being more cat-like  I can do that after the bulk of the model is done though if you want the toes more cat like. If that doesn't matter as much, then cool. :)

Teyon... The toes are fine. I like them. The poly count is good too. Will there be uvmaps? It'll help in texturing. THanks loads!

FFD... I will be using the textures. Thanks loads!

Fantastic!

I hope this is posted for general sharing. I'm not yet making NEW creatures in Zbrush-but I am getting decent at making morphs of existing ones.
