Subject: Neat M4 Hair

Ajaxx ( ) posted Wed, 14 August 2013 at 2:24 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 12:03 PM

I am looking for  high-quality, neat M4 hair figures for some commercial work. What is definitely out is long hair, spiky hair, grunge hair, heroin-chic hair, etc -- which is all I seem to find. Hopefully I can be directed to several styles that might be seen on a conservative businessman. Thanks ahead.

Here are two of my favourites, the All Back hair included in MayaX's pack has many variations as you can see and the Timeless hair works well for a clean, neat look.

There's also this similar to the All-Back but without so many styles:   http://www.daz3d.com/royal-prince-hair

And then are many by Neftis:

At Daz3d you have to be cautious and make sure you are buying something that will work in Poser. Just because the product says it works in Poser, does not mean it works well. So if you find yourself browsing, you need to be careful, and ask questions in the forums if you're not sure.

That said, all the following, except the last one (which I'm unsure of) should work fine in Poser. I believe I own most, if not all, of them.

(Some of them say that you need a required product: David base. You don't. They're compatible with M4).

Thanks for the effort but what I am really looking for is something more like this

grain of the hair all flowing in the same direction, no hair sticking up

Unfortunately, if you want something extremely specific like that -- especially for a male -- you're pretty much going to have to figure out how to modify existing content or make it from scratch yourself.

Use the Poser Hair Room ? You can style the hair.  Better yet, Shade's hair salon is great for creating mesh hair for Poser.

Really? That's interesting to know.

I think it would be hard to get the look he wants in the Poser Hair Room.  The image he posted is slicked back.  Like an FBI agent or something. You won't get that look with strand hair.

Some of the older Poser hair models might be closer to what he wants.  One of the old "plastic" hairs with a new texture, maybe?

FWIW, the Guillaume Hair does work in Poser without DSON, but it's a huge model.  Expect your computer to slow to a crawl.  Fibermesh hair looks great, but takes forever to load and render.
