Checking it out, this is what I saw in the description: The textures are all fully tileable jpgs for use in any 3d/2d software that accepts this format. I don't know if there are any special instructions included for Vue users, but tiling images are quite easy to include in Vue as a material. What you would probably do is set up a sphere object, or maybe a terrain object, then give it a material based on one of the tiling images. To do that means just to open the material editor and select "New". On the Color tab, mark "mapped values". A Picture button shows up, select the button and navigate to the image you want to use (for best results, the image should be on your hard drive, not on a CD). After that, you can tweak the material in any number of ways for additional settings, but in its simplest form, that's all that's needed. You can practice before making the investment, using any tileable image. Try totallyseamless.com to pick up a few. :)

I actually helped Kromekat beta these texture packs, and I assure you they wonderful. I have three images in my gallery using a combination of the texture packs. They are very easy to mix and match. They can be used in so many combinations, some of which can have very novel effects. Feel free to look at the images as well to help you make your decisions. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=69245 http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=69239 http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=69241 If you have any other questions regarding these textures, don't hesitate asking. Thanks for that Sacred! - Sorry Davey, been away for a week and onlt just got your email last night. Hopefully you now have more info to help with your potential purchase! - There is no secret to using tileable textures, just be aware that the 'frequency', ie: how many times the texture repeats/scale of pattern is one of the most crucial factors in realism. Too many repeats/higher frequency and you may get a visible wallpaper effect. Too low a frequency and the textures may pixelate! Plenty of bump (using a copy of the texture as an alpha value to create height scale) works well as does using lots of terrains to randomise the scenes 'strata'!

Does anyone know if the Kromekat CDs come with instructions on how best to use the textures on the actual disks? Being a newbie to Vue4 I was very impressed with the images produced using them (see on-line store) but concerned that I'd need to be a Vue genius to get similar results. Before I spend my cash I'd like to think I could dive right in and come up with comparable results with only basic composition to worry about. Thanks in advance you beautiful people:)
