Hello! I need to render some gory stuff. Is there a special website for this? I already checked out this website, but I could not find anything useful.

Are there other interesting website about "gore"?

basicwiz ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2013 at 6:34 PM

I believe Renderotica.com might be what you are seeking.

hborre ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2013 at 7:56 PM

Yep, plenty of gore there.

ghostship2 ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2013 at 8:45 PM

is rotten.com still around? I had nightmares after seeing that websight about 10 years ago.

what about devient art and the Dark whatever sites I keep forgetting I joined ?

rrotica is I think restricting some art due to credit card processor issues. Soon it will all be meadows and bunnies ;-)  , naked bunnies to be sure but still...

There were a few sites about VORE if you are into gooey plants eating people.

Depends on what you mean by gore and what resources you're looking for, props, reference images, textures … I know some things can be found at renderotics, what all I don't know as I've barely stuck my head in the door in years. Two artists, Davo and Dendras did a lot of stuff that may fit in the broad category, a lot of infernal restraint and 'enhanced interrogation' devices etc. Some of that may be available at renderotica. There's a site orexart.com that has some of Davo's old stuff - may even be run by Davo himself. I didn't venture into the galleries but from the description, they may have something of interest to you. I've seen things like blood splatter brushes for PhotoShop that you can search for. There used to be a brain and a heart model for Poser that may still be around if you need maximum goreage.

whoah, I do not need nude poser models, but rather things such as skulls or brains. Some guts could serve as well for a zombie themed render...

nobodyinparticular ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2013 at 7:18 AM

3-d-c has some items along that line. Here at Renderosity. Look at his "Flesh and Bones" for starters.

icprncss2 ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2013 at 9:09 AM

Mortem Vetus over at RDNA have some excellent characters, textures and props.

Quote - Mortem Vetus over at RDNA have some excellent characters, textures and props.

Second that. And they render even better than they look in the previews!

jarm ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2013 at 3:00 PM

you can get some internal organs for mike and victoria over at Daz but they are more anatomical models, but might be useful.

There's a zombie kid texture somewhere in the marketplace here and Daz has some stuff by Rawart which is quite good for like borg and other strange textures.

Gore-Dom plug in good too over at Daz that lets you add blood splatter etc, but it doesn't work with every skin shader.

This is the stuff that jarm is talking about,

M4, Zombie for M4, M4 Internal Organs, M4 Brains, Add-on for Zombie (pose and blood pool), Dirty Denim.

Threw this together for illustration purposes in under 2 minutes so no lights or enhancements of any type used.

Fetito ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2013 at 8:35 PM

Yay! Are the models compatible with Poser 2014?

Poser already contains M4?

nedkelly ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2013 at 10:22 PM

Not sure, I will have a look later when I get some time and see if they have poser files included, otherwise go to the DAZ site and search for Zombie by SMAY

Fetito ( ) posted Thu, 29 August 2013 at 4:21 PM · edited Thu, 29 August 2013 at 4:22 PM

@nedkelly: I'd appreciate your help concerning the compatibility, because I am a neewbie. :)**

nedkelly ( ) posted Thu, 29 August 2013 at 6:23 PM

Ok, so I had a look and there are no poser files included and I tried to load the daz files with Poser and it didnt work, sorry.

Fetito ( ) posted Thu, 29 August 2013 at 6:36 PM

Is there a way to export them via the Daz Poser Exporter? I don't want you to be my "laboratory animal", I am just curious :) . At home I installed the free Daz Pro 4.6 that also has a converter.

nedkelly ( ) posted Thu, 29 August 2013 at 7:28 PM

I have not used the exporter so I can't help you there sorry. Maybe ask someone over at the DAZ site, the forum that is not the support team, you will die of old age waiting for a reply lol.

Fetito ( ) posted Wed, 04 September 2013 at 4:01 PM

@nedkelly: i was able to import the stuff! Yay! Thanks! You rule!

RDNA has a similar Zombie model for James1 (which IS included in Poser version 6 and up, James1 I mean).  It's reasonably priced too. I know I've used it several times.

You are welcome, newbies don't want to be overwhelmed, although I'm sure the other suggestions were excellent and even more detailed, I thought you might like to start with the basics. :)

Another question: Do you render your scenes within Poser or with 3Ds Max o Maya? I think that "Mental Ray" gives me better results so far, but all the small settings kill me.

Boni ( ) posted Wed, 04 September 2013 at 7:41 PM

Although I do not have the latest Poser version, I find that studying the material room and lighting ... you can get good renders inside of Poser, at least to start out with. I've used in since version 3.

Hope that helps.

On my homepage, trekkiegrrrl.dk I have a "rotting skin shader" that mught be of use. It's for... Poser 5 James I think, but it's easily used on other figures if needed, just manually change the texture references to whatever figure you're using.

here, I've conformed the person... hmm probably the Poser 3 nude male as he's the one that fit the old Poser skeleton... anyway, conform a suitable person to the skeleton, put the rotting shader on the skin and... rotten... :)

Remember btw that Poser comes with several skeletons. They're in the lecacy content...

Boni ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2013 at 5:55 AM

Just a note, Sorry TrekkGrrrl, but James1 didn't come out until Poser 6.  Don was in Poser 5, but if it's a shader rather than a texture it doesn't really matter. ;)

Boni

P.S. Evilinnocense has a tattered shirt for the original Poser skeleton too. And at RDNA I beleive Traveler has a rotting Poser dog (the original dog) and a rotting P4 male.  These are all free.

Yay! Thanks! I was up till 9 in the morning trying some renders and I was full of adrenaline! Thanks for your support! :)

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2013 at 11:37 AM

Yeah I realised that the shader is probably for the p3 nude male, he's the one that can be conformed to the old Poser skeleton. But it's easy enough to change the texture maps to whatever you are using :) I've used it on V3 with this result:
