Aside from a couple of Swim suits and the Candygirl Suit for Anastasia, I don't think I've made anything too suggestive or skimpy for the Poser ladies. So that begs the question... should I keep their clothes  tasteful and conservative or should I start going full bore skank wear with the Poser ladies? It's not something I'll be doing right away, but just gathering info for later on.

Depends if you want to be creative or suggestive.

I like tasteful ones. They're a lot more usable.

Well, people use V4 for sexually  suggestive artwork, so I'm wondering if the Poser girls had the same or similar outfits in their closets. would they get used a bit more?  Everybody often complains that Vickie is built like a supermodel, but given a choice, would they use the average girl or the supermodel?

I think the issue is mainly the look of the faces of the SM girls more than the body.

For most artistic purposes, people want very traditionally pretty faces.

Although there are some pretty characters for SM figures, most people just ignore them since the figures aren't stunningly pretty right out of the box.

The "pretty face" conundrum is likely even more of an issue for suggestive artwork.

That's why regular clothes look nice on the SM regular girls.

How about doing something totally different like historical period clothing? SM has done a little, but some good period clothes would be a lovely change of pace...especially for Roxie.

Good morning I am thinking of an animation. Press coverage has just started for the project, I tried four years ago with some success and I feel the animation needs updating. Theme is

(Don't build a motorway through our valley ) The artists fear the area is in danger of succumbing to a bypass scheme from Wiltshire Council, and are instead calling on the council to support the proposal to turn it into an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB.)

I found it difficult on the first animation to find Male & Female business suits for the council officers. Any costumes that would cover this would be much appreciated.I am using stock figures poser 2012 poser 8 . If anybody has links to formal clothing that would be great to.

Have you checked CP?  IIRC, there were suits and other normal clothing for the G2 figures and perhaps earlier. 

Historical clothing seems like such a specialty field I'd almost feel like I was wasting my time. On the other hand, for some periods like maybe medieval times, I certainly could get behind that.

Make a variety, and see what "sells" for yourself. Don't rely entirely upon the opinions of others. Also, make what appeals to you. For myself, I'll take anything Rex and Roxie, Tyler and Anastasia, and Miki 4.

Agreed. Rex and Roxie are two of the best models I have ever used. I'm collecting everyday clothing for Roxie, as there is so little with P2014. So I will take anything - beggars can't be choosers?  ;)

Just so you know, I haven't abandoned the other Poser figures, but since they had a head start on Rex and Roxie, I'm doing a little catch up for them.

 

I also think I'm going  try my hand at a few fantasy  outfits for Roxy. Just to see if I can.

Okay, I don't know if you can call a mermaid a Fantasy "outfit" but hey, I think it was a good first try.

 

Here's another for Roxie. It's still a WIP, but I've all but finished rigging the wings. Got a dress and shoes coming with it. I'll probably rig the dress to conform, but as I've said, there will also be a dynamic dress included.

 

What I want to know is, what do you think and is this the kind of stuff you want to see for Roxie and the other Poser figures?

I managed to finish a little more of the dress, but I'm debating whether it should have fringes or not.

Okay, so I finished the dress, and while I'm still willing to put in a fully dynamic version,  I have to ask, which is better, fully dynamic or a hybrid?

This dress is a conforming dress, but the hip is all one piece and igt has helper bones for posing. But you can still take it into the cloth room and clothify the hip,
