Edit menuGeneral PreferencesDocument tabLaunch to Factory Scene option.
Press Ok button.
Exit out of Poser.
Load Poser back up.

I think I missed out one step.
Follow the steps I gave, after the Launch To Factory Scene, click the Set Prefered Scene button.
Click Ok.
Then drop out of Poser and load it up again.
See if that does it.

That "is" the default scene for PP-2012.
But you could set the ground to "wireframe" or "smooth shaded lined" if you want the grid pattern.
Can't remember if the lights were changed, too, but if you want everything as how it was in earlier versions of Poser, you have to open a new scene in an older version of Poser, save it as a pz3, open that pz3 in PP-2012, then make it the default scene in your preferences.

If someone has the time I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how to get the default preview window back.
I am attaching a screenshot of the way it looks now. I have no idea how it got this way.
