hi all just thought Id show what I did today. Had a challenge to make armor from a picture and I thought Id take a few minutes and see how hard it will be to make. I dont think it will be too hard to model, but making posable will be fun (not) whatcha think? any armor makers out there? BT

Wow! That's way cool.

Xurge is the armor king. You might ask him on some tricks. Making it posable should be a snap.

hmmm..what do you mean 'snap'? this thing cant have blend zones when it bends a joint..I know a workaround (extra joints) but thats gonna be a major pain. btw,..got an update to this model and am proud to be featured at staigerland (amapi's major modeling link now and eovia rep) this week :) http://www.staigerland.com/amapi/samples.html btw,..where you been spike? Was wondering when we'd see the final of that male model you've been making :) BT

well, Im a bit closer. I think I have a problem with the posing in the waist area. I may have to do a bit of rework there to accommidate movement in that area. btw, over 80% of this has been done by simple extrusions..nothing really fancy and no nurbs surfaces at all. BT

Im impressed! but turn down the shine and reflect, it makes it hard to se any details. Make the headwings a little longer and point a little more up, and try not to make it fan out so much. Allso try making the abdomen muscles appear, i think its to flat there. Anyway i like it very much

those effects can be achieved via morphs (when done)..now it is posable so I can make the morphs for it to make various appearances. btw, this is a female..and not many fems have that '6 pack' of muscles. but then again, not many females wear armor huh? heh thanx BT

FyreSpiryt ( ) posted Wed, 20 March 2002 at 7:02 PM

BT, your armor is gorgeous and your modelling wonderful, but as a Flash Atheist, I have to say that your webpage has one of the most unintuitive interfaces I have ever seen. Is this beautiful armor still available as a freebie, and if so, where (and how) can I get it?

brycetech ( ) posted Wed, 20 March 2002 at 9:36 PM

theres no flash involved at my site other than the actual bryce interface. http://www.brycetech.com/ doesnt have flash. the armor is here in the store now... BT
